[OPEN] Photographs turn black (Patch 1.58.69) [ Edited ]

It just happened to me as well, right after the latest patch end of July, the one who made everyone get old and die, I didn't mind dying that much but....losing my art, what will I leave behind then lol???? After I restarted the game after the patch, all my paintings and pics went blank and black. Sigh, not funny...I lost everything I created, plus my pets I created too are now all black. Just shadows of their former selves, roaming around like, hmmm, well like black shadows. Painting is what I love doing a lot so it really ruins it for me, so many hours, days weeks of labour for nothing, all art destroyed. A nation without art is a nation without soul and culture lol, sucks. No one knows what causes it? WIll it be fixed? Until then I shall look at the bland artless world (pun intended) with an empty soul, arg. ps. Never used mods. ps4

All my pictures turned black out of nowhere once I've logged into the game. I tried different steps shown on the help section but they also seem to be outdated. 

Anyone has any tips to help? Thank you

I tried looking this up but everyone else seemed to have the problem in every save file, I only have the issue in one save file. I don't know what happened. It took the pictures, put them in the sim's inventory, saved the game, and left the game. Made copies of them in my saved pictures folder, and put those copies into a different folder leaving the original copies where they were. I haven't played in a while. Today, I went into the game and loaded up my family. Right off I noticed a photo on the wall was completely black. I shrugged it off as I didn't care much about that particular picture and every time I play my game I run into a new issue. I played with that household for maybe five minutes and switched to another in a different town (willow creek) but the same save. I have multiple families around the towns that I switch between to keep things interesting. I remembered the photos I put in her inventory, and when I went to see them they were completely black. I had one sim take a new one and it was fine on the wall and in inventory, so I'm really confused. I tried the following: Repairing the game, taking out my mods, restarting my computer, making a new copy of the save using save as, and I tried looking up solutions but kept being told to repair the game which didn't work...in fact that never works. I was curious if it had happened in every save file, so I checked my other most played save and all the pictures were perfectly fine, both the ones on the wall and the ones in the sims inventories. So, I don't know what's going on. Now, I suppose the pictures aren't too important, they were taken as "school pictures." You know, like the ones that were taken of us at school every year and our parents would order them and hand them out to our relatives. I mostly took those to use as profile picks for my sim's wiki pages where I keep track of them all, but it would be nice to hang them up around the sims' houses as it makes the homes look much more lived-in and more realistic. I don't know one person who doesn't have pictures of their kids up on the walls or at least on the fridge.

Basically, I was moving my sims and decided to go for a little realism and put all their pictures into one box (the one from the eco pack). All was well until I went to unpack these pictures, but they all suddenly turned black? I had them all with the sepia filter. I cleared my cache, reset my game, reset the UI scale, removed mods, tried to put them back in household/sim inventory to check if that would work. I have literally tried everything and I am so devastated. These pictures were of my sim as a teen, at her wedding, with her toddler, just basically her entire life documented. I'm desperate to get them back, any help??

I’m playing on Xbox One and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced certain pictures (non Cc) downloaded from the gallery, as well as pictures my sims take using the cameras are blank. The paintings from the gallery are just white, and pictures my sims take are completely black. Someone suggested my memory space getting full, but I only play The sims on the Xbox and memory not even half full.

It's the same with the new keepsake boxes as well. I stored my photos in the box inventory, closed the game and when I reloaded it, all the photos turned black.

So my sims have a family keepsake box and they've put some meaningful photos inside (8 to be exact), but I opened the keepsake box and the photos are black! I tried pulling them out to see if it was just a weird thing for inside the box, but nope. The photos got completely ruined once they were placed inside the keepsake box. I've added a couple of random and unimportant photos to see if it would keep doing it, but those photos go in and out unaffected. Not sure what's going on with that, but I wanted to let others and EA know in case it needs to be looked into.

What happens when the bug occurs? All of the photos in the keepsake box taken by a sim that has since died turn black
What do you expect to see? I expect the photos to stay normal even after the death of the sim who took the photos.

Hi,

I had an elder couple and an infant. I used the elder male to take a lot of photos with his phone and put all of the photos in the keepsake box. The elder male has since died. Now, after about 30 in-game days I noticed that all of the photos taken by the elder male have turned black. Photos taken by the elder female, who is still alive, are still fine. I attached a photo of the bug.
