@PoptartJuniper I connected my wireless mouse and that solved the issue right away! I didn't even know I could use that mouse on my ps4 lol. Thanks for the quick reply!

This is still happening  in May 2021 in the same scenario as the original poster. It’s always been the case since the console release.

Help! I tried to pick up some dishes my Sim left on the table right as he was done making a video for get famous expansion. I cant click anything to confirm the name and description or change the name and description for his video. I can move the camera around but I can't place the dishes down. I haven't saved in an hour and I don't know what to do.

@MedMami I've merged your post into the current bug report for this issue. Please click the "Me Too" button at the bottom of the first post on the first page of the thread.

If you have a mouse you can plug in, you can click on the box to clear it, or you can plug a keyboard in and press escape. 

If you do not have either, there is no way to escape out of the message box except to quit and relaunch the game.

I just encountered this issue today and came here in hopes of finding a solution before exiting and losing all progress. I was placing orchids to plant in my garden when a career situation for another character appeared. I have two choices but cannot select either because the cursor is still “holding” an orchid.

@SimGuruNickI am having this issue a lot recently. Having three teens in school, there’s non stop pop ups from the same ole scenarios every day! Can’t do anything without the distractions and then totally unable to click out of or drop what I’m grabbing at that moment nor able to save so I don’t lose what all had been done since the last save.

It is especially ridiculous since it highlights the choice, shows the arrow but just will not click or open the options to save!

This is still an issue over two years later. Why? This is essentially a "game-breaking" bug that causes players to lose their progress. 

As you can hopefully see from my attached image, I picked up a plate of food just as a message popped up and was unable to click away the pop up, place down the food, or do anything else. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting my controller to see if that would fix the issue, but I'm now stuck with the "controller disconnected" pop up. 

I am not even able to open my menu to save my game meaning my progress will be lost (luckily I save regularly). 

I understand the volunteers on these forums have no control over these issues, and my annoyance is not aimed at them what so ever, I think you do an amazing job and are always very active an knowledgeable.

The mouse worked for me! You are a gods-send!!! You saved all the work I was doing to friends animals for aspiration milestone completion. LMBO  I was so worried I'd of wasted hours of work. My son was like "Mom, I keep telling you to constantly save progress, you never learn."  He's not wrong.

I am also having this issue, can anyone help? I dont want to have to close the game and lose all my progress.
