@crinrictTry randomizing the eyes in human form, then randomize the traits. I had a friend testing this and she said she only got the glitch after randomizing the eyes, that randomizing other features didn't cause it for her.

So it seems maybe it's when eyes are randomized and then traits are randomized.

ETA: Video my friend took of her in CAS and the mermaid form dropping after eyes and traits were randomized.

I get this in my game too. I tried randomizing other things and it didn't work but when I randomized his eyes it did it.

I have a mac and have this same issue (along with skin details and tattoos being removed, but that's a different issue for mac users that hasn't even been solved or addressed much Standard smile ) and when i created my sim and then went to mermaid cas or mode i create my mermaid, didn't randomize anything and tried to keep things similar except for her eyes which I didn't randomize. then i switched back to sim form and she was just a plain sim. no occult thing or anything except a sim. rlly disappointing

@mina_dailey YES. Having the mermaid issue and the skin/tattoo issue. I’m playing full vanilla, more than half the packs... waiting for Sims to give it a little love..

★★★★★ Guide

I decided to test this issue earlier, and determined that, for me at least, it DEFINITELY happens if I randomize the eyes, then click on certain other parts of the CAS interface.

The Random Trait button is one, but so is clicking on a Sim portrait on the bottom left of the screen (either the mermaid/merman's human form or someone else in the household), or changing the mermaid/merman's age. (Changing the voice doesn't trigger it, but the mermaid/merman is still broken, I believe.) I didn't test every possible trigger.

I did notice that mermaids don't have parity in their eye colors with the human form...I can also safely randomize the eyes in MERMAID FORM, and switch to human form with no problem. However, the randomized eyes didn't carry over to the human form. (Manually changed eyes do carry over, if at least Face is allowed to be Linked?) I attached a couple of screenshots of one of my test mermaids/mermen to demonstrate.

When I went into the Sims 4 Folder in Documents a while ago, though, I discovered a lastUIException.txt file. Looking at it, I think it may be related to the Mermaid Form being broken and deleted? (I've attached the UIException file to this post, too.)

P.S. - When I was adding mermaids to a test household, one of the ones that came up was a pretty female, and I decided to go ahead and make the mermaid I was wanting to make out of her. Since I didn't click randomize on the eyes, I had zero problems with her Mermaid Form while creating her.

EDIT: Posting this got rid of the attached lastUIException file, so here are the contents in a Spoiler Tag:

Re: [NEEDS INPUT] Mermaid form dissapears in CAS

Hero

Mermaids in Create a Sim will no longer be able to have their Traits randomized. This allows them to keep their Mermaidism, as well as their air of mystery and charm.

Fixed in Patch 1.63.133/ Console 1.25
