[OPEN] Friezes/Trim too brightly lit from Interior

Hero (Retired)

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Set game time to night. On an empty (or test) lot, place an octagonal room. Set wall height to highest. Place a ceiling light within the room. Add a frieze. Note how the frieze is lit (mostly dark except for a touch of light bleed around the inner edges at the top). Add windows around the room. Note the lighting on the frieze now. Copy the room and place the copy on top of the original room. Delete the frieze and replace it with exterior trim. Note that the exterior trim lighting is affected in the same manner as the frieze.
What happens when the bug occurs? The frieze or exterior trim become brightly lit, much brighter than the walls, windows, or other features of the structure's exterior, and in the case of the frieze, even lit on top, where no light could logically reach. There is also an odd square shadow that appears on the top of the frieze.
What do you expect to see? Reasonable light on the frieze, equivalent to the other features of the structure.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Here are images displaying the problem.  Please note that you can also see an issue with a column placed in between two of the windows becoming more brightly lit that other columns placed around the structure.  This seems likely to be part of the same lighting issue and such a small thing that I did not want to report it separately, but when addressing the frieze/trim lighting, please address the columns as well (only happens to the column placed in between two windows and only to certain columns).
