[OPEN] [ECO] Power turned off due to Squirrel warning and never turned back on [ Edited ]

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play until you receive a message from the Landgraab Power Company: Landgraab Power Company Safety Alert: Due to squirrels we are going to turn off your power some time in the next 48 hours. Are you prepared Choose prepared as option.
What happens when the bug occurs? The power is shut off but never turned on again.
What do you expect to see? Power to come back after a while
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

The original thread had 120 me toos but not all are this bug.

This most definitely is an issue/bug I got a call from the Landgraabs that my power would be shut off (and that they hope I'm ready) and  it never came back on. When I leave my lot or exit the game then come back, it gets restored, but will soon turn right back off. Rinse, repeat.  No CC installed and there are no N.A.P's that  have been voted for that affect power.

This is the result of a power saving NAP being in effect in your neighborhood. Invest in windmills/solar panels or repeal the NAP.

I am having this issue too. It only seems to affect apartments and it is tied to the prank calls added to the game with Eco, not to NAPs or not paying the bills. You get a call claiming the Landgraab power company is going to shut off your power due to squirrels. If you click the wrong option your power is turned off. It is supposed to last 48 hours, but the power never comes back on. If you exit the game and come back in, the power is restored, but only temporarily. If your Sims leave the lot and come back, the power is gone again.

I have even tried moving my Sims out, bulldozing the apartment and restoring it with a save from the gallery, but the power is gone when they move back in.

@crinrict if you click "Of Course!" the power is not shut off, they say it's just a test and they give you a bill discount, which avoids this issue.

If you click "Prepared?" you receive a stressed buff which lasts for 8 hours and tied to that is a power shutoff action. When the buff runs out, it triggers the power to turn on again. I think you have to be actively playing on the lot where the power is cut for it to restore the power. If you have your sim travel away or you switch households and the buff disappears while you aren't there, I think this might be what causes the issue where the power never returns?

I don't remember whether I left my lot during the 8 hours or not because there is nothing in the game that suggests when exactly the power will be coming back on.  I will say that several days later, the power was still off.  Moving my household off the lot did not fix the issue.  That particular lot where I answered "Prepared?" was permanently a powerless lot.  I tried repairing game files and that did not fix my issue.  I ended up just starting a new save.
