@lambcaey Same for me, only one person will give me feedback on my notification panel, even when there are two household members and I speak to them and fulfill the ask for feedback.

One client will say the same thing each time, that it's not to their taste but they appreciate the effort, even though they were all cheering and had hearts when looking around. Then everyone will cry and I never get paid and reputation decreases significantly. Every time.

One thing I noticed is that the 5 gigs I've done had starting budgets of 8000 simoleons for room renovations, which is a lot higher than play throughs that I've seen on YouTube.

I have no mods installed right now either.

@Hey_Simsters There are several factors that play in. Are you using up the budget and not going over massively ?

What does the task say how many you need ? I had one reveal where I didn't need all of the for some reason.

@crinrict I never go over budget. I've used under, close to and very under. Same results with all of them. Every time the people of person do the room reveal and have hearts over the heads. They say they're ready to give feedback, the first person will hug me then it'll pop up saying the not my taste but appreciate the effort. Then all the other people start to cry but their feedback doesn't get shown in the notifications panel. And then I'm not paid and lose reputation. It's the exact same every time.

And when I pick a gig there's only one available, it's always a room renovation and the budget is always over 8k, which is much higher than any of the budgets for starting interior designers that I've seen on YouTube.

I think it's definitely bugged. I follow their instructions completey and afterwards I've checked the clients full likes and dislikes to see if there was something that explained it but there never is. So now I'm not saving it and doing the same job over and over and trying different things to see. But it's always the exact same outcome. And I'm pretty certain that the not my taste but appreciate the effort outcome normally means you get paid, from other play throughs that I've seen?

I'm really gutted because it's completely unplayable. I'm going to try a third sim and a brand new save and see if it's the same. I like the furniture but the game is too expensive if it's just for the objects.

I’m having this same problem every. single. time. my clients(s) give me this response. The client will shake my hand enthusiastically, smile, and all that, but if they’re not happy crying, I don’t get paid and get reduced reputation. I will still have the happy buffer though for having satisfied clients. They will also call me again asking to do another room because they were satisfied. The same will also happen if there are multiple clients and only one doesn’t like it, even if the others are happy crying. I’ve never downloaded any mods, so I know it’s the game.

Conflicting client response to decorator gig after game update 20th July 2021

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? 1.77.131.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All packs except Journey to Bateau
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Perform an interior design gig and follow clients requests to the letter.
What happens when the bug occurs? Updated game partway through an interior design gig. The gig was a level upgrade at the Vatores house. Firstly after game update I could not change wallpaper in the living room again (changed mind about colour since saved and exited game day before) and a red pop up said renovations were limited to specific floor (despite being able to decorate the walls before the game update and the living room being on same level / level being renovated. I went from having two clients to just one (Caleb) while other household member (Lilleth) went to play on PC during reveal and could not be asked for final verdict. Throughout reveal event Caleb was shown happy, getting excited, doing a little dance on the spot etc (the usual response when client is pleased with result) when asked for final verdict he gave the usual ecstatic response when it’s a successful gig, however notification came up that I didn’t get paid and my reputation had significantly dropped and a little sentiment cloud appeared over Caleb’s head showing he was furious towards my sim about an interior decorator gig gone bad, this was despite still walking around his house smiling and nodding at everything. Basically his body language doesn’t match his sentiment!
What do you expect to see? Either for a client sim to actually appear angry and upset during the reveal and final verdict when having a furious sentiment over “gig gone bad” OR to get paid and decorator sims reputation to improve/ increase as expected when a client is visibly happy/pleased during the reveal event and final verdict. It doesn’t make sense otherwise!!
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Same thing happening to me. Followed their likes/dislikes, clients appeared happy with hearts and crying animations. Said it wasn't what they expected but appreciated it. Then not paid and significant reputation decrease.

 

This exact thing happened to me with Caleb and Lilith after the update.

@lambcaeyThis same thing is happening to me but after patch 1.77. And yes, I'm taking into consideration even the likes and dislikes that are not shown in the gig panel.
