No Off-Screen Death Notification

I know this isn't a bug, but rather probably just something that was left out of the game's design. However, I get incredibly frustrated with the fact that I get absolutely no notification when my Sims' friends and family that are off-screen/inactive Sims die. As it is, you either have to be around them right at the time of their deaths (not likely), or you may just happen to notice that there's another faded Sim in your Sim's relationship panel randomly.
