NHL 23 Franchise Black Screen at start up lineups and in-game

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I just started up a franchise and it happened, everything was all black, buttons and stuff, something happened
What happens when the bug occurs? created a black screen at starting lineups and in-game too
What do you expect to see? I expect this to be fixed, I want play the franchise, I don't know what caused it

I restarted NHL 23 from Xbox live and it was fixed, but for a moment it had me worried, I don't know what caused it, but it was there and now it's gone now, that was the weird black screen bug ever. I am putting this down as it rarely happens.

This also happens to me on PS5, Has happened going into gameplay in both Be A Pro and Franchise modes. The sound plays (as if the game is still playing and the scoreboard at the bottom shows however the screen is pitch black (the player indicators are also showing).

Same exact problem on PS5...curious if this is due to the roster updates?

@broknneck I reloaded game and did not use new roster update and it works fine

I've restarted 4 times, still getting all black, I can see bits and pieces but can't play the game

EA are you going to come up with an update to fix this????? I am returning the game if not, and won't be buying in the future....

The fix for this is to let the game start and skate around blindly slashing someone to take a quick penalty.

We ALL know that slashing is the games FAVORITE call and disrupts play, but that's another issue...

When the penalty is called and the cut screen appears, let it play through without clicking a button.

Game will be fine from that point on.
