Left trigger connected to search bar bug [ Edited ]

This issue has reemerged since the infants update on PS4. When I hit the left trigger to undo an action in build mode, it keeps taking me to the search bar. I have to close out the search bar to continue. I don't have mods or custom content since I'm on a console. Is there a workaround for this? It's making it impossible to build, change the size and height of items and open the cheat console.

@_awkwardlezbean Yes the undo button L2 also opens up the search and will do it at the same time. I've had the same happen in my game. It's interesting because L2 is search, undo and change how the objects snap to the grid.

@Bearpal64 Exactly! And it does both actions at once. For some reason when I screen record it doesn’t show the search keyboard that comes up but that’s what happens as well as, undoes the previous action. The controls are all messed up. I keep randomly getting stuck on toggle too and have to restart the game when that happens to move the arrow freely again

I can't use LT now without the Filter by Red coloured items popping up. I couldn't resize to place or redo yesterday. It was incredibly frustrating.

@simsplayer818 I found that when i first go into build it will work as it should i can resize and freemove before placing and undo but after a while it it stops i have to place an object then pick it back up and undo will then always bring up search

@mumofharry Yes same here. I also find that it works when the old control mode comes back briefly as mine is switching between old and new control options intermittently.

Whenever LT is pressed on console, it brings up the search box and it also undos whatever you just placed. It’s kind of annoying.

Same thing with me, ever since the infant update the L2 trigger now brings up both the search bar and undos what I just built. At first everything works fine like normal, but within 5 min of free building it starts to do that instead. Never used to do that before till the newest update. Hope they fix it soon cause now it's practically impossible for me to build anything cause I don't want to spend half my time canceling the search bar everyime I want to simply undo a wall I accidentally made to long or get rid of a couch I didn't like.

This is still an issue. It needs to be solved. Makes me not even want to play anymore.

Ive never done this before but I play on the ps4 and have the exact same issue with the search bar popping up. There is too many functions in one button. Ive only had this issue since the big build update… did nothing but make me literally rage quit building a house. 1 trigger is in control of the search bar, undoing mistakes, and snapping different objects to the lot. Ive used building in the sims as a way to cope for years and its sad to see it becoming unbelievably annoying and difficult to play. Ea please help lol
