Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Join a society Try to complete tasks
What happens when the bug occurs? Will complete a task but does not show as complete under the society tab (example: trying to complete “complete an abstract painting” task. I paint an abstract painting, task will not show as complete.)
What do you expect to see? Task should complete when sim does the task
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

@goldenrosegames Had personally no issues with them completing even after traveling.

Was that the only task you had issues with ? Don't think had had that one.

It was that one and a level up in art skill task. They were working fine at first but then stopped completing.

@crinrict I was a seasoned member, I couldn’t advance past that and then my sim graduated

I'm having this problem too. I'm currently a Seasoned Member (lvl2) and I think I'm at 75% of filling up the bar. But no matter how many tasks I perform, the bar doesn't go up and I can't progress in the Society. It's really frustrating, because I want to rank up.

I'm experiencing the same bug with the Art Society. The tasks changed on the days they were scheduled and reported completed as appropriate while I was in the New Member (level 1) stage. As soon as I hit level 2 (Seasoned Member) the tasks stopped changing and completing the tasks listed did not check off as appropriate.

Steps I have taken to resolve:

• Restarting the game,
• deleting the cache files, and
• running repair in Origin. 

None of them worked. Sims 4 is up to date running on a MacBook Pro 2019 (MacOS Mojave 10.14.6). I have no custom content and no mods.

Update: 

After many tries I found a work around - sorta of clumsy, but it seems to work.

If you are stuck in advancing progress in one of your societies - try the following:

1. Travel to a scheduled event.

2. Make sure there are club members present and they are labeled accordingly. For mine, it was Art Society Member under the Sims name.

3. Leave the society out of the society/clubs menu.

4. Ask to rejoin from one of the members in front of you. You won't lose progress you've already earned (I was put back in my correct level) and the tasks started working again.

NOTE: If I left without being at the event and then tried to travel to the event, none of the members or easels were present. Inviting sims that I knew were members didn't work either as when they arrived they weren't showing they belonged to the Art Society. 

Hope this helps. I wonder if there is some background culling or other oddness that is going on behind the scenes.
