Yes. I'm experiencing this too. I was playing in game today and got TWO fires within about 5 mins of each other trying to cook a roast chicken for the Birthday Party event to complete the task. Eventually, I got the roast chicken to cook after two fires and replacing the oven. But, I also had an issue in this same save where there was a grill fire which killed my sim. I've talked to other simmers who said it could be the "Fear of Fire". At this point, I'm just going to turn off fears and see if it fixes it. But it is super frustrating that it happens continuously.

Re: Stove catching on fire constantly

I definitely think this is a new glitch. I am a regular, long time player, and I haven't had this many fires before. I never use mods, my sims have top cooking skills and an upgraded stove, and most meals are catching on fire.  It's really annoying.

I have no mods and it's happening to me too.  I've been having my sims make meals that don't require a stove.

Kitchen catches fire every time Sims cook in SimS4 on xbox

★★★ Newbie

Everyone's stove catches fire almost every time they cook in Sims4 on Xbox. This literally ruins the whole game.  What why does this keep happening...different Sims in different houses.  How can this be stopped?

Stove catching on fire twice in a row.

★ Apprentice

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Steam-PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? SP26: 1.assets.beta-sp26.41
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I have all the expansions, game packs and stuff packs so far. Only missing some kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know?
What happens when the bug occurs? The stove is catching on fire even though my sim has max cooking skill.
What do you expect to see? The stove not catching on fire, my sim has max cooking skill it should not be catching on fire.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I wish I knew what is causing this, it shouldn't have caught fire twice in a row.. this is ridiculous.  The stove is not upgraded but it freaking will be and I swear if this happens again I am uninstalling and reinstalling.. this is frustrating, I just wanted to feed my toddler who was starving.  Now they're sad.. 😢. I have the lastest update.

Did anyone on the lot get fear of fire from the first fire? That makes fires much more likely, until they successfully put a fire out and get rid of the fear. (Hopefully without triggering the fear in another household member for a domino effect.)

If anyone's afraid of fire, I would stick to salads and sushi until the toddler's fed!

same here, getting a fire every time without fail that my sim uses the oven. It is infuriating, a bug that continues to never seem to be fixed.

Do they have fear of fire? If any sim in the household has fear of fire, it increases the chance of fires.

What about lot traits/challenges - are you on a cursed lot?

What lot in which world are you having the fire problem on??  I have seen it in my game but it only happens on the rental lots in Selvadorada and Granite Falls.  It happens when my sims either try to cook on the stove or on the grill.  Is it the same for you or is it happening in one of the residential worlds?

Hope this helps.
