September 2022 Pets not eating on their own

I installed the 13 September update and installed My Frist Pet Stuff, now none of my pets can eat on their own. I'm on PC. I saw some posts where they mention the fireplace causing issues, I do have a fireplace. 

I also tried different bowls and feeders. I reset both bowls and the dispenser part. I reset the pets and restarted the game.

The pets only eat when I tell them to, so I'm just cheating their needs until the issue is fixed.

Please help!

@GalacticBloodElf  Hello! Have you tried placing the bowl in different places?  I wonder if there could be routing issues.  However, there is an open bug report that may be related to the issue you're having.

@GalacticBloodElf  That's too bad!  I see your post was moved to the main bug report.  Hopefully they can figure out what's happening from the shared saves and find a way to fix it soon!

I still have this bug, but I use custom content and mods.

I just wanted to keep playing with my mods and CC. I didn't have the patience to test it w/o them. (It's a personal issue. I'm working on it.)

I have a few expansion packs but no mods or cc’s. I started a new game to play without cheats and my dog won’t eat on its own or when told but is showing he is hungry. He just stands there over his bowl. I deleted the bowl and bought a new one and placed it elsewhere and still no change. The dog will go to the bathroom by itself then go right back to the bowl and stand there staring at not moving or eating but again showing it’s hungry and wants food

How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats&Dogs, My first pet stuff, romantic garden, luxury party, jungle adventure, get to work, street fashion kit, bonus content
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Step 1: Have a cat/dog Step 2: Ask them what is wrong once moodlet gets red Step 3: They will say they want food or a clean litterbox Problem: I already have the auto-cleaning litterboxes, and the food bowls are always full.
What happens when the bug occurs? The pet doesn't see that the bowl is full/food is avaialble or that the litterbox is clean. They then stay with the negative moodlet unless: a) I call the pet to eat specifically b) I delete and re-buy the litterbox despite being auto-cleaning litterboxes (multiple around the house as well)
What do you expect to see? I would expect them to see the clean litterboxes and food and to not get upset
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

So, I've recently bought cats&dogs and this bug is driving me mad.

The only resolutions I found was to re-start the game, to carry the cat to the litterbox, then ask again "what's wrong" (this doesn't always work) and to ask the pets to eat .

The dog once ran away because...I don't know, the bowls were too full I guess.

I searched online and apprently this was fixed at some point, but I still see this bug.

My pets can't eat. I constantly get the "your pet is starving" notification. I have tried to restart the game and traveling. Nothing worked. They just stand at the bowl and whine, even if the bowl is full!

@karleyshae06 is this also happening when your Sim cooks food for them? And also with the automatic feeder?

And travelling means you moved to another lot in another world? And have you tried placing the bowl somewhere else?

(Maybe outside where nothing is around).

I experienced something similar on a lot in Tomarang where my Sims were unable to walk to certain places. As if there were invisible obstacles.

Edit: Oh and until you find a solution and before they starve, you can shiftclick them and cheat 'make happy' that fills up their bars.
