I had this problem back in September 2023. As soon as I moved the whole family with 3 pets (2 cats, one dog), the animals stopped eating from the automatic feeder (of which there are two in the house). At the same time, the cats began to complain about the tray, but it is clean and does not interfere with anything nearby. Sometimes they use it automatically, sometimes this bug happens and you have to force them to use it through a sim. Before that, I lived with 3 pets in two San Myshuno apartments, but everything worked fine. The problem started with moving to a separate house in the Del Sol Valley. Perhaps, but not exactly, the problem may lie in the fact that all 3 animals have become Ghosts (but added to the family).

Btw, in another save file (Tomarang, rented housing), cats (all alive) use a tray and a feeder without problems.

EA Sims Team

Hello @Divezie @karleyshae06 @LennyOgg @Hemfuda,

We have not been able to reproduce this on our end and hence collecting saves for further investigation.

If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)?

If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file.

Instructions for sharing files with us are here: http://x.ea.com/74420

Thanks!

I keep having the same issue...the same with the litterbox. This all started after I moved my sim family to a new location. I also noticed that sometimes the pets don't move untill i interact with them. The dog seemed to go in the courtyard when we first moved in, but now doesn't know how to go on her own anymore. (I have never used any mods and if you do want a copy of my save ... I don't know how to do that)

Re: Dog won't eat until the last second, cause it to be taken away every time.

I’m having this exact issue, and not just with animals in my household. I have a lot that’s open to stray cats and dogs and they complain about empty bowls too, when both of my pet bowls are completely full, and almost none of them actually choose to go eat on their own.

I’ve also noticed that the bowl refill machines don’t work either. I’ve tried everything, from setting them in build mode and leaving them alone, to trying to schedule a refill time. I just end up having to manually refill the bowl. I have so many pets, this is becoming more cumbersome than infants!

Thank you so much for the info. Just don't know who to send link to? Or should I do it here? Or even if anyone wants it?
