Please describe the patch or change you made. Patch from 9/5/2019

I buildt a staircase and configurated it to a Z-shape, and my sim won’t walk up the stairs. I tried moving the wall so that the stair will have a 2-square clearing at the top, but my sim still won’t go up the stairs.

Creating stairs to the second floor of a raised block will no longer need a drop wall to support it for Sims to be able to route on it.

Fixed in Patch 1.58.63

@marianlarsen It's probably best if you share your built.

Could you upload it to the gallery ?

★★ Guide
@crinrict My gallery ID is MarianLarsen, the build is called Chateau Peak.
I only have an issue with the Z-shaped staircase. I don’t have any problems with my other two, one regular and one U-shaped.

@marianlarsen

The problem is the platform bit joining the stairs and floor:

I pulled out the ground floor to meet the top of the stairs and the Sim could use them:

@marianlarsen I also did some testing with Bluebellflora's suggestions and was also successful. Before doing that, I wasn't able to set the door as front door either so something was not recognized as it should.

There's also a lamp inside the stairs. Not sure if you put that there on purpose. You can see it at the bottom.

@Bluebellflora @crinrict Thank you to both of you! I’ll look at it tomorrow.
I also had an issue with not able to set the door as front door, but maybe it works after I fix the stairs.
I put the lamp there, but I’ll see if I can place it somewhere else.

@marianlarsen I don't think the lamp is a problem. It just looked odd in my eyes

I'll add this anyways so they can look into it why it doesn't work the way you built it.

I'm having the same issue and it is not resolved with the landing suggestion. I even removed absolutely everything in proximity to the staircase, around and above, just to be sure.

The staircase to the basement is fine. The basement wall is next to the stairs heading down and I thought maybe the basement foundation, since it (annoyingly) pushes up the dirt was interfering, but even moving that wall away didn't resolve it.

@RanaAurora

Please could you upload the lot to the gallery and I will download and test it?

Thank you! I just launched the game with CC and script mods turned off and resaved it, so I'm chuckling at how much is missing. It's uploaded! Marked as #Troubleshooting and Broken.

Thank you again. I really appreciate it.
(Note when you look at it it will include things not visible above. I had stripped everything from around the stairs - windows, door arch, shelves, even the deck outside due to the overlapping little bit, etc. None of that made a difference.)
