While I did see a post similar to this it sounds like my problem is slightly different. I started a new 8 person family which I was going to test out before putting on the gallery. It had two young adults and 6 teens. 3 teens started homework by themselves so I had the other three start too. After that no one would do anything other than basic movement like writing in their book. Even the young adults were stuck too. I tried to reset by closing and reopening but shortly after I told my teens to work I saved so I could check on another family in the area. I did not play that household I just forgot where they lived. I am still new at the sims and I do not know what to do. I have not played any other household since they froze.

I've merged your thread with existing bug report.
If teens autonomously do homework and chat at the same time, the game will freeze.
Only thing you can do is cancel the homework interaction. Sometimes it also works if you click ESC and then close the window again.

Same for me, a townie child doing homework on my lot.
I found that if I gave my sims orders, then saved and restarted the game, most of the time they would do the action when the game resumed. I had to do that a couple of times, then the townie disappeared (leaving their homework behind) and one of my other sims was stuck under the stairs (but there is a known workaround for that)

Is anyone still experiencing freezing/lag that appears to be caused by children/teens doing homework? If so, a save file and your Config.log would be super appreciated, thanks much!

This bug had been fixed for me for years but after the last patch has returned with full impact. No homework without 2 or 3 complete freezings.
