Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have Sim attempt to talk to another sim when both are eating a meal at the dining table
What happens when the bug occurs? The Sims will stop eating, stand up, hug, then eventually sit back in different seats and continue eating and talking.
What do you expect to see? Them to just begin talking, not hug first.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

This is a new game that I just started after the most recent patch. When my Sims are sitting at the table eating a meal, and I tell one of them to talk to another (such as Ask About Day, not interactions that have the feet icon.) the Sims will get up and hug first, then sit down in different seats and continue to eat and talk. It has happened every time I’ve tried. It mostly just messes up the flow of the meal and makes everything take longer than is needed.

This is quite annoying. They've known each other for quite a long time already, why do they have to do that while eating? Is this a feature or just a bug? If it's a feature, I hope it gets changed or something.

@bae281995 Omg it happens all the time, and then they keep standing and I have to tell them to sit again.

@bae281995 There haven't been any reports on this in a while but I merged your post with the current bug report on excessive hugging.

This happens all the time during meals with the family. Sims interrupt eating, get up with their plates in their hands and hug. After this, they continue their meal standing.

This is the most annoying "design concept" in the game (yes, even more annoying than the dust-smell animation and the death notification calls).
