[NEEDS INPUT] Career Action Remains after Random Event where Sim Quits [ Edited ]

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.51.75.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except Laundry Day, and Toddler Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a Sim join a career, and get a random event that has it so the Sim had to quit from their job. (I have seen this happen with both the Criminal/Boss career branch, and the Secret Agent/Diamond Agent branch)
What happens when the bug occurs? When the sim returns home from work, they will still have a marker over their icon on the bottom of the screen indicating the specific "task" you have them doing while at work. (Example: Work hard, Work Normally, etc.)
What do you expect to see? When my Sim returns from work from a work event like this, I expect my Sim to not only have the work icon removed, but the "task" icon as well.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

(I'm unable to add the screenshot for some reason, so I will describe as best I can below.)

The issue essentially is that the Sim picture on the lower-left is no longer greyed out, and the "suitcase" icon is gone, however the "task" icon (Which usually shows as two sims holding hands) is still visible, with the last task I assigned the Sim at work showing up in the tooltip when I mouse over it. This behavior does not go away until the Sim goes to another job, from what I've been able to tell. (If you change lots with the Sim, it remains as well; it does not change while off-lot. It also does not change if you leave the affected Sim on another lot while traveling with another Sim.)

I've noticed this happen both with and without mods installed; to me it's not as much of a problem since I can just have a Sim join another career and it will sort itself out, but if a Sim is not intending to go back to work, the icon would remain indefinitely.

I have had this happen too, shortly after Get Famous came out.  My mixologist got a fame card and I opted for him to accept and lose his job and he showed as being home but still having the symbol for being at work. What I did to get rid of the symbol was to move him out of the house using manage households, then I loaded the house without him in it, then went back out and moved him back in and the symbol was gone.  I explain that here at the beginning of part 71 of the same LP; here's a link to that. https://youtu.be/fq44wOm-gV8?t=103  Just deleting my localthumbcache and repairing my game didn't help.  

I've not accepted any other fame chance cards that result in my sim losing their career since.
