Multiple Adult/Toddler and Pet Issues - tasks and full speed and running away

[ Edited ]
★★★ Newbie

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.59.73.1020 (64 Bit)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Seasons, Cats & Dogs, and My First Pet Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Several bugs occur: 1. When pausing from full/highest speed it reverts back to full speed 2. Sims and pets glitch through objects and walls at full speed 3. Sims and pets appear to glide and don't have any animation sequence at full speed 4. My toddler magically transports to different places on the lot after altering outfits through a dresser 5. When asked to do tasks, it appears and then just randomly disappears 6. One of my dogs keeps running away every 4-5 days and returns within 2 days 7. The same dog that is running away all the time cannot be bathed in any tub by either adult sim 8. When my toddler is tired to the point of anger and is then tucked in (even with a significant amount of energy in the bar) he will crawl out of bed and pass out. 9. When my sims try to read to my child to go to sleep, he will crawl out of bed or the parent won't sit read. 10. At full speed, the progress and meters for necessities will randomly fill up before the action occurs or take forever to complete. 11. During build mode windows and doors would not exist even though their frame was still there
What happens when the bug occurs? 1. it takes several times (2-3) before the game will actually pause 2. They keep the animation but will randomly jump from the correct place to a couple of feet away, back to the correct spot. 3. They will sometimes cancel the command and appear stuck in their previous place or command/activity 4. Whatever activity he was engaged in is cancelled and he picks up from his new location with whatever action pops up in his queue next 5. It takes 2-5 times of telling a sim what to do before they actually do it 6. My dog will not learn to go potty (neither will learn this) without being told and will become upset by this and run away. Or when there is food in at least on of the bowls in my house, my dog will not register it and will focus on the empty one until it is filled or will run away if that doesn't happen fast enough. Or when all bowls are filled, the dog will not register it until a sim calls her to the bowl or food. On occasion during the middle of eating the dog will decide to run away still. 7. The sim gets the dog into the tub and will be stuck at bathing her without any progress. 8. When my toddler is tired to the point of anger and is then tucked in (even with a significant amount of energy in the bar) he will crawl out of bed and pass out. Then wakes up and crawls back into bed and allows the adult sim to finish tucking him in. 9. When the child crawls out of bed he usually stands there and then gets back into bed after a moment. When the parent tried to read they will sometimes just give up trying and will cancel the task. 10. At full speed, the progress and meters for necessities will randomly fill up before the action occurs or take forever to complete. 11. It didn't register as an object until I picked it up and placed it back down again
What do you expect to see? 1. I expect the game to pause the first time 2. I expect the sims and pets to walk through doors and around objects 3. I expect to see an accelerated animation sequence 4. I expect my child to be exactly where they were before doing whatever action they were engaged in 5.I expect my sims to complete the tasks given, even if they have autonomy turned on 6. I expect my dog to learn how to poop on its own after being taught several times and to eat dog food if it is in one of the bowls on the lot. And to not decide to run away after the need is being met 7. I expect to see my sim bathe my dog without getting stuck in a constant bath session. 8. I expect my toddler to go to sleep when being tucked in even when close to the point of passing out because the action is meeting his need. 9. I expect to see my adult sim to sit on the bed or chair provided, the child to get under the covers and fall asleep after the adult begins to read the book. 10. I expect the progress meters to fill correctly when the sim is engaging the activity, not before or after. I also expect the needs meter to fill during the activity as well when the need is actually being met. 11. I expect them to never randomly decide they don't want to be a window or door anymore
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

Hero

Hi @Skwirmmy

at the bug forum we need one thread per issue so QA can track them better.

Please read this for instructions on how the bug forum works: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/INFORMATION-How-does-this-forum-work/td-p/7368632/

As for your issues

  1. Do you have a maid ? Could be related to this issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-Game-only-runs-in-3x-speed/td-p/8533657
  2. Please create a new thread. Adding a video for visualization would help greatly.
  3. Please also create a new thread and also post a video. Could be some performance issue though
  4. Just the toddlers ? There was another report of time continuing while in CAS but I can't find it right now.
  5. Which task ? Any task ? Probably best to use this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-A-Multiple-Interactions-drop-from-queue/td-p/78131...
  6. Are you taking good care of them ? Are you playing rotationally ? What traits does the dog have ?
  7. Do you not have the interaction or doesn't the dog get clean ever like in this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/TROUBLESHOOT-CD-Puppy-doesn-t-get-clean-on-washing-in-the-tub/...
  8. Has a thread here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-Sim-wakes-up-just-to-pass-out/td-p/8457751
  9. Children or toddlers ? Is the bed against a wall on the long side as in this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-Toddlers-can-t-be-put-to-bed-read-to-sleep-if-bed-... ? There's also this thread but that's generally putting Sims to sleep: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-Parents-refuse-to-put-sleepy-toddlers-to-bed/m-p/8...
  10. Create a new thread
  11. Which windows ? All of them ? There's this thread that sound similar: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-V-No-reflectivity-on-glass-in-Forgotten-Hollow/m-p/687752... although it's not build mode. Please create a new thread and add pictures/video.

Good Luck
