Summarize your bug Keybinds completely broken.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try set a keybind. Especially in the Pilot tab. Cannot set Mouse to Yaw at all. Also when trying to ESC it binds Mouse5.
What happens when the bug occurs? Irritation and Frustration
What should be happening instead? Binding the Key.

£90 for a AAA game that you cannot set Keybinds for.....

Solution to the problem I was having: delete the cache folder in My Documents/Battlefield 2042

Additional mouse keys (side, scroll) are binding all as Mouse 6 and I am unable to unbind them. Game breaking for me as i use sprint, melee and crouch on them. I am on Glorious Model o wireless if that matters.

I have the same problem .  I can't use keybindings for mouse.  Its only register mouse 5 and it actually doesn't work at all

Unable to change the mouse bindings as required to mouse for use in game. Upon selecting the action, the game does not accept the mouse command given and instead stays on the "please assign key or hold to erase" screen.

I'm having the same issues as well. Button 6 is what I keep getting and it is telling me to remove the keybinding I need to hold down the menu button from an Xbox controller. I don't have a controller connected to my PC at this time.

I assume you are trying to change the keybind in the mouse section? @deathDealer_vm

I'm also having this issue with mouse5. I was able to successfully bind keys (luckily) when I first opened the game this morning, but now it seems like the game thinks I'm on controller. 

Someone noted in this thread that the 'profile save' file in the bf2042 folder is stuck on xbox:

I have the same problem.

I want to bind walk forward and backward to left and right button, but that does not work

This is useless, I will not even try to play as long as I cannot assign my controllers even

Summarize your bug You cannot map anything using the mouse I want to use left button and righj button to move forward and backward but it does not detect that I press the button when I select the mouse field in the key bindings section

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just try to select Controller = Custom and try to set Move Forward for soldier to Left Button on mouse
What happens when the bug occurs? Nothing
What should be happening instead? The left button should have been selected as Move Forward

Hi,

I am trying to change the ‘Mouse’ binding. Not keyboard binding and it does not accept the mouse input for the change. For example, I am trying to bind my side mouse button (Button 4 or button 5) to the gadget or specialist gadget function and Im not able to do that. 

i was able to do this fine during the beta.
