Linking Steam breaks game

What happens when the bug occurs? I can't login to the game at all - stuck on login screen
What should be happening instead? Should be loading into the game lobby
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Link Steam account to Apex Legends, then try launching the game after a while (took around a day before problem occured).
Linking Steam to my Apex Legends account broke the game, after around 24 hours I can suddenly not get past the Login Screen at the very start.
