JML AI's bad play vs. JKR lead JML having big ramifications. Is this intended?

Summarize your bug JML AI is coded to practically always open with "Efflux" vs. JKR lead JML teams. If JML in this case used "They Grow Beyond" on the opposing JML the matchup would change from unfavorable to favorable for the defending, typically the JML lead team. I believe this would be enough to remove JKR lead JML teams from the squad arena altogether, which is why I am posting this information, in case this is something the studio should be aware of.

This is not a bug per se but there is a precedence with SLKR and 5s+GAS for posting about AI behavior that is leading to a dramatic performance difference vs. human play.

 

Consider two teams going to battle each other (with equal mods and relic levels): JML lead, JKL, GAS, JKR, Yoda and JKR lead, JML, JKL, GAS, Wat. Depending on which side the human is playing there is a dramatic difference to the outcome. If the JKR lead team is played by the human both JMLs will open with "Efflux", resulting in a favorable position for the JKR lead team because of his Tenacity Up blocking the other Efflux's negative stuff. If the JML lead team is played by the human what happens instead is that they use "They Grow Beyond" on the opposing JML (they go first due to the JML lead speed bonus), which will make the opponent unable to use "Efflux" because it is on cooldown. This is a favorable result for the JML lead team and is also what the AI should be doing.

 

That odd behavior by the AI explains the prevalence of JKR lead JML teams in the squad arena. If the AI was improved to use "They Grow Beyond" more strategically the JML lead should become the favored pick. I wanted to post this to make you aware of this possibility with tuning the AI, and also because I felt the JML lead together with his ultimate ability was supposed to be used, in line with JML Dev Insights post.

 

This AI behavior can also be compared to the following questionable AI instances:

- Darth Vader not opening with Merciless Massacre

- SLKR still not using all of his abilities vs. GAS + 5s
