How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.90.375.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything up to and including High School Years
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a sim go to a Science Fair. On the vending stall, select Purchase Unique High School Festival Clothing > Buy and Wear Chess Team Shirt.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim changes into a random outfit.
What do you expect to see? Sim changing top to a variant of the Chess Team Shirt.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Installed High School Years.
Sims changing into random outfits instead of the Chess Team Shirt:
Tested in new save. Tested with YA and Teen sims. Tested both Science Fairs. It happens in all instances.
It only happens for the Chess Team Shirt, the Computer Team shirt is OK. The Sports Day outfits are OK.
Once selected, the option permanently changes your sim's current outfit (an instance of https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-CL-SE-Wearing-festival-T-shirt-permanently-alters-current...) but this is about the outfit being random (similar to https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Random-work-outfits-accessories-Patch-1-80-69-1-48/td-p/1...). It's like those two bugs had a child and the child went to high school.
