Game lagging/frozen after cottage living download

Same problem here - game generates hundreds of empty households ever since installing Cottage Living. I even tried starting a new game file entirely - it worked for awhile, but when I went to open the game today, it had generated hundreds of empty households in the new game as well, and now that save file is as bloated as the old one.

re: MCCC - I tried the "delete homeless sims" command in MCCC and couldn't get that workaround to work, either. :/
