The minimum requirements state a 4xx series card. Those with a 210/250 don't have the gpu.

Try running it using the integrated graphics on the CPU.

Solved it for my case. Deactivate 3D Support for the VM. 

MacBook Pro 13” with intel graphics and VMware fusion and windows 10. 

I guess it may be related to DirectX.

Yep, probably all craphic cards which don't support at least DirectX 11 have issues. 

This thread has a lot of people with the same problem, usually on old video cards...

Well the update didn't fix this problem.

A patch won't magically change the problem that your hardware is old and unsupported.

You need a graphics card that fully supports DirectX 11. That is all.
