Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Look at the clothes in the whole game, some are worse then others
What happens when the bug occurs? The light/shine is gone
What do you expect to see? The shine/Light
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Even without the shine all shirts/pants/outfits/accessories across the whole game's arent correct with the lighting since the 1.95 patch the above are just the worst of them.

After more testing it only happens with low lightng settings. Medium and above fixes it

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By using any CAS asset that has a shiny, metallic, shimmery, or reflective texture. I see this on both makeup and clothing items. I've had this glitch for a very long time but did not have this issue for a few months after installing the game on a new computer until it happened again sometime after I installed High School Years and not due to downloading an update to the game or the EA App.
What happens when the bug occurs? In CAS I use items or makeup that should be shiny or reflective, etc but they appear with a non-shiny texture. This also persists in Live Mode.
What do you expect to see? The CAS items to appear with their proper texture both in CAS and in Live Mode.

This is as they appear in CAS. They appear the same way in Live Mode. The lipstick example is using what is supposed to be the glossy variant as can be seen in the picture.

@ScratchyTrees I tested with your settings and, yes, I can replicate this with them

I believe this is probably a performance thing so you don't get lags.

Had to set lighting to very high for the shine to appear (maybe other settings work too but low doesn't have the shine)

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Apply any lipstick/nails that are supposed to be shiny.
What happens when the bug occurs? Shiny versions of lipsticks and nails are identical to the matte version.
What do you expect to see? Lipsticks and nails that are supposed to be shiny to be shiny.

I'm not entirely sure when this all happened, I came back after a little break and noticed it. I can't remember when I first noticed it, but it was right before the last update, and nothing changed after the update.

I've tried with all sorts of different clothing/hairs/etc., and even on completely naked Sims, and nothing works. I've tried using different save files. I've checked Sims in my gallery who I know where wearing shiny lipstick/nails but now they're all displaying as matte. Nothing has worked so far.
