I'm also having this issue with my Sim Christine Michaels! Reading this bug report I now know what happened or at least probably what happened. I too retired 2 Sims at the same time, unaware that it might cause unexpected repercussions in the game.

My Sim Christine Michaels has been retired and is in the wrong generation She's in the current generation and is suppose to be in the previous generation . Attached you should find a pic showing this and how I'm unable to retire her myself. As there's no longer a retirement button, she's being counted as a member of the current generation. This is preventing me from retiring adult Sims and also continuing to advance generations.

the last sim I retired From my 3rd generation is gone. I retired Him about 1 week ago then two days ago I retired his wife who is my first retired sim in my 4th generation and he disappeared sometime after that.
I contacted Ea & basically got told that sometimes retired sims expire permanently.....
this is definitely a glitch and I hope It gets fixed 🤞🏼
I’ve had to do a rollback once before for a different glitch so not a fan of that 😓
