How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Buy land patches on the new land lots
What do you expect to see? When I buy a new patch it clears in the given time without having to do it over again.

With the new update you can purchase new land. On the new land you have to pay and wait to clear patches of the land to make it useable. Each time you clear a patch the next one gets more expensive and takes longer.
I have attempted to purchase and clear 3 areas so far. Every time I’ve done it I get close to clearing the land and the progress disappears. I’m out my simoleans, my land, and my time! I have lost about 3000 simoleans and 20 sim cash so far.

UPDATE 2, the fix is here!:

@katrpillar80 & @irishhippiegoth got an update from twitter on this issue:
Hiya! We've got a potential fix for the land expansions bug. It's currently going through QA and if all's good we'll submit it to apple/google ASAP.

We've also instructed player support to fully compensate players who run into the issue, please don't hesitate to contact them.
In the meantime, we've got a workaround:

If you're building an expansion in one of the new lots, you should have a sim active (selected) that lives in this house lot when you close the game. This way when you open the game, it loads into that lot and all should be saved!
So a fix should be on it's way, to contact EA:
- Open side menu
- Click the gear icon
- Click the 'Help & About' tab
- Click 'Help'
Your browser opens
- Scroll down and click on 'Contact Us'
Open the spoiler for picture how to get to the 'Contact Us' button:
If you can't access the app for some reason. You can also contact EA outside of it.

If you want to do so in a different language you can choose your country of choice in the upper right-hand corner.

Am I correct if you're saying, the new land you open doesn't open and the price for the same piece of land keeps going up?

I was able to buy the initial land okay. But as I develop that land through land expansion (clearing the patches of grass) the progress disappears along with the simoleans I spent and the price continues to go up. It has happened 2 more times since this post. The only way for me to actually clear the land is to pay sim cash to do it immediately instead of wait for the time it takes to clear it.

The same happened to me WITHOUT force closing my game. It was running in the background as instructed. Money is gone, llamas are gone and land is not cleared. So, it seems you cannot clear land at all, without losing your money/progress.

I was a able to successfully clear the first two patches of ground. The third one which costs 1000 coins and 2 llama and takes one hour I have tried three times. Land does not clear, and I lose my coin and llamas.

Every time I try to buy new plots of land from my main lot (324 emerald Dr) the timer begins on clearing the land but then always disappears after a few minutes as if the progress was lost or transaction never occurred. I'm confused and disappointed because after 3 attempts I've lost tens of thousands of simoleans and llama tokens! Haven't had this problem on my new lot... Please advise on a fix - thanks

I'm having this issue as well. I tried the workaround but I'm thinking that needed to happen while it was in progress. Mine has been completed for a day.
Im not sure how to find my player id though. Other than trying to get it from the splash screen. Well
