How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Summarize your bug Gear for Favorited Characters not displaying Favorite tag in stores, when the chars can't equip the gear yet.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Favorite a character either of low level or too low stars to equip a gear piece. Then search for the gear in the store, and see that the gear does not display the Favorite tag if it's not yet equippable.

Specifically, my GBA is not yet 7⭐, but I'm trying to finish his gear before he gets there. He's at g11 and all he now needs are mk4 Bacta Gels. Since he can't yet equip them, though, they do not show the Favorite tag in the store. Conversely, looking at the gear piece in the store doesn't show any toon as needing that gear who can't equip it yet either.
The same thing happens to toons that are too low level to equip gear.
IMO the pieces needed for a current gear level on a Favorited toon should also show the Favorite tag to more easily help the player prep the gear ahead of time.

This is actually working as intended, because as you say, the character can't use that piece yet.
I had a thread over at the official forums asking for it to be changed to show the gear even if the toon was below the star level, but it didn't gain much traction. Feel free to post your feedback about this over at the forums: https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/categories
