I can duplicate your issue but I think the problem lies with the house since it doesn't have flooring on that room.

★★ Newbie

As I said, I rebuilt the floor and it continued to be an issue;. The burning moodlet did not go away once that room was covered by a floor. As it didn't solve the problem I took it out again as the whole house was built around this room. It also happens on both levels, the top with the rails and in the grandhall/ballroom area downstairs.

the problem is happening in other rooms as well, notably the purple master bedroom with the ensuite. I really don't understand what could be going on!

For me it happens in the whole first downstairs floor and in the second level that one room.

Bryony can probably help you better for the moment.

@jacecat13 I'll take a look at this today.  I think it does likely have to do with whether the game is seeing the space as an indoor or outdoor area, and I could definitely see split levels causing the issue.  Will let you know my findings.

@jacecat13 An update - I tested various things, and in order to fix the issue, what it came down to in my game, was deleting the fence.  Once I deleted the fence, the vamp sim no longer experienced the Sizzling Epidermis effect anywhere on either level of the basement.  I would appreciate it if you would also try deleting the fence in your game to see if you obtain the same result.

What I suspect may be happening is that the fence may create small gaps in the terrain below it that causes areas of the basement to act as if they are exposed to light from the outdoors, but that is just a guess on my part.  Let me ping @SimQARobo who could take a closer look at your build and determine what exactly the issue is in the relation between the fence and basement exposure.

Re: Vampire getting burned by the sun, while inside and underground.

I experience this in the Straud mansion in Forgotten Hollow, but only on the staircase leading up from the basement. I kicked Vlad out of the house and moved my family of vampires in. Every time one of them is coming up the stairs they briefly get the Sizzling moodlet, though of course sometimes it gets stuck like it does when they go to work,  forcing me to travel to another lot to get it unstuck. I can't figure out how any sunlight is getting in there since the staircase is completely covered.
