Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? PC: 1.99.264.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except Get to Work, Journey to Batu, and a few stuff packs
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have Sim begin a new project such as writing book, painting, nectar making
What happens when the bug occurs? Sim will “work” on the project so that the skill bar increases but no “progress” ever finishes on the crafted item. Sims will “make nectar” or “paint” or “write book” for literally an entire sim day or more but the crafted item is never “done” nor will it appear in the inventory. My first Sim to ever use the nectar making skill got to skill level 4 over 3 days on the first nectar batch with the batch never being done. The green circle around the task in the task bar is full but the task continues and no nectar is ever made.
What do you expect to see? I expect sims to finish 1 painting in a few Sim hours and for the painting to be in the inventory.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

Just wanted to note that this is happening to me since the Ranch update, and I’m not sure if it’s every creative endeavor or just nectar making. Last night I was making it fine, today the sim has been marching on strawberries for over 12 hours. His skills go up, but the nectar finishes. I tried resetting the object. Resetting him. Replacing the nectar making thing. Throwing out the batch. Nothing is working.
This sim does NOT have the Creative trait type. He does have the nectar making trait and the rancher trait.

I think I found a factor in the problem, and a possible work around. On PS5, anyway.
I had lined up nectar making tasks for my sim - he was doing energy nectar, and I scheduled grape too. He would not progress with the energy nectar. After several hours, I stopped him. Had him discard the batch.
Saved the game.
Shut down the whole system (so the game closed too) and restarted it. Sure enough, he was able to start and complete a batch.

Hi.
My simmer is fully skilled in all instruments, but every time I try writing a song, the bar says that she is 100% finished writing the song, but she won't complete the song.
Some of my other household members is able to finish the songs.
I've tried to replace the instruments, and I've tried to use public instruments.
I've also tried to repair the game.
What is the solution of this?

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.305.1020

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Level sim up on violin until they can write songs. 2. Try to write song on public violin (I was using the one in the Arts Centre in San Myshuno) 3. Wait as progress bar fills.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim keeps writing the song indefinitely. Tip logic still works. When exiting and re-entering the game (with saving), the Sim's song progress is reset.
What do you expect to see? The Sim finishes writing the song.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

I haven't yet tried songwriting on piano or guitar in the new update yet, but suspect similar. I haven't tried in this patch on owned instruments either.

Additional info: Tried in another save; bug failed to manifest. May be because the sim I played with originally is a teen as opposed to the YA I tested with.
Edit: Nope, works with a teen on another save too. probably either tied to Infant age-up traits, Toddler ageup traits (I did need to cheat to fix a bug with the trait not assigning), or Child aspiration reward traits. I can't think of what else it may be.

This bug has been a thing for so long, and it's kinda annoying. It made the Music Aspiration pretty unachievable through legitimate means. Honestly this wasn't a bug when I played the game and got City Living for the first time 5 years ago.
