Ok so I found a solution that works. you simply move out of your home and move back in it seems to have worked for me.

Well nevermind, ditching the microwave didn't work after all..  IMO having to move your sims out is far too drastic a step to take for a supposedly fixed bug.  Honestly no Idea why this keeps happening, in modded and non-modded games, multiple families, and so on. This shouldn't be a thing anymore!
