[FIXED] Social Menu not appearing for certain Sims [ Edited ]

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.105.297.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Click on a sim
What happens when the bug occurs? A sound happens but no social menu appears
What do you expect to see? The social pie menu to appear.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The patch that was released on 2/27/2024

I tried travelling to a different lot, no change.

I tried repairing the game files using the EA app, no change.

I tried removing the localthumbcache.package file and restarted the game, no change.

Edit: I turned on cheats and I am able to shift click on a sim to get the cheat menu. However, I tried resetting my sim and npc sims and still, no social menu.

I'm not 100% sure if all platforms have rolled out but I'm going to lock this now.

Addressed an issue where Sims that had achieved certain skill levels and had unlocked or crafted specific recipes, or had written music, were then unable to select interactions on themselves, on other Sims, and on certain objects.

What can you do if you still have issues ?

1. Remove all your mods/cc and delete the localthumbcache file. This IS important. Test without them.

2. Repair the game

3. Check your game version. You can find it in the lower right corner of your main menu. It should be: 1.105.332 or 1.88 for console

4. If you still have issues, create a new thread and provide your Sim to the gallery. Make sure to post WHICH objects you still have issues with

There were a lot of threads and some were just turning into collections. I did not read every post in here either so it's possible that strays landed here. If you had a different issue, create a new thread (again, remove your mods/cc first)

@KAJ3D Had no issues when I tested several saves for other bugs.

Did you test multiple saves ?

Current status on my tests:

This seem to affect certain Sims but which ones is unclear. It could have something to do with either the fame fix or the holiday fix. I can def duplicate the issue on the Sims in question and this is NOT mod related. EA is looking into it. There's currently not much more I can do as there's no exceptions throwing and I tried the usual stuff and couldn't get the interactions to appear.

Seems a lot of testing and stuff was going on while I was sleeping. There seem a few related thread which are currently kept separate. Please post/me too in these if you (also) have these issues

I highlighted the workaround found and I hope that we get an e-patch for this.

@crinrict  So anything within the last month doesn't work, but older saves do.

Not exactly thrilled with losing a month's worth of playing

@KAJ3D Do you have any LastException files in your documents folder ?

Best is to delete the ones you have, then trigger the error and check if new ones are created.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Uploading the file is meant for troubleshooting.

Hey everyone! Just updated my game on xbox and when I went to play on my save, I realized that I can't click on any sims so I can't interact with them. It happened after the latest update (02/27/2024). I noticed what was happening after the delivery I ordered arrived and I couldn't interact with the delivery man. I tried restarting the game and a older save from the same family but I didn't work. After that I created a new family and I was able to interact with other sims and click on the sim I was controlling.

I deleted the LastException files in my documents folder and restarted my game. I tested multiple saves with no social menus. There were no new Last Exception files created.

I am having this problem now after the update and I don't have any mods on my game at all at the moment. I took all of them out just to make sure it wasn't that but this only started after the update. Do you happen to know anything about it? It seems to only work if I start a new save. Well it worked in one new save and that was it. The second new save it didn't work at all. I did move sims from one save to another but I pulled someone from my gallery that I made the first time and for some reason it only worked the once. Please will they fix this?
