I think the emotional response to this and the number of people who have suspended play justifies at least a progress report sometime soon. If only to say "we're aware of it and are in such and such a stage of working on it."

I have the same problem as well. It began after I patched my game with the most recent patch. I hope there is a fix for this soon since my game is practically unplayable. I don't want to play in a town full of clones, and I shouldn't have to. Also just for the record I play with no mods or CC.

This is an upsetting glitch, and a game-breaker for me. I haven't played since I saw it in my game. Here's another visual. I used the same YA Sim to start 2 games, one before the Oct. 1 patch and one after. On the right is my Sim as he aged from YA to A pre-Oct. 1. On the left is the same Sim in a different game that was started after the Oct. 1 patch and who has aged from YA to A. Notice the differences. It even affected his very distinctive nose, probably from the cheekbones changing.

I'm usually pretty philosophical about bugs, but this one really hurts. In 14 years of Sims there has never been a bug so bad that it has made me abandon the game. I'm playing Dragon Age: Origins now.

I was playing a new Legacy when I noticed that all game-generated female Sims had basically the same face. Then I noticed the males. I have abandoned that save. Right now, I am playing (a different Sim), but not the way I'd like to. I altered EVERY single unplayed Sim by hand. Yes, every single one. However, the games keeps happily generating more and more clones. I'm not letting my Sim have children because I'm afraid of how they will grow up.
My plan as of now is to wait for a fix, then delete every game-generated Sim that my Sims don't know and let the game then generate (hopefully) Sims that do not all look the same. I was so excited for this game. I'm still playing, but I am so disappointed. I kick myself that I didn't save my earliest games. I'd have to put aging on hold, but at least my townies would not all look like identical freaks.

This has been fixed in Patch 1.0.797.20
Seems the issue is not fixed.
Here's a mod that helps with the issue: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=538744

Okay, so EA spends 20 days to come up with a fix for a terrible bug, and the fix is not working? Don't they ever test their **bleep**? (<--Insert more common word for excrements here. Silly censorship.)
I haven't played Sims 4 in about 2 weeks now, although I really want to be playing. One more month with this nonsense, and I'm done!

@kaichen04 I know EA did some fixed but last time I checked it wasn't fixed completely. Yet, no reports for a while.
Is this fixed for you ?
And more fixes
- Fixed an issue with the male jaw tagging that prevented randomly generated Sims from having diversity in their jaw shape.

Yes, it has been fixed for a while, but I still use Shimrod's mod because the fixing was done removing certain parameters while Shimrod simply adjusted them, meaning that, while the issue no longer occurs without the mod, there is less variety in looks while randomizing.

Great.
Thanks for the feedback

I know this is really old but I'm getting this now a few years later but it's more of a gian elongated nose and face and odd spacing of eyes on males and a weird giant round jaw for females, it's done it on 2 seperate families that weren't related to eachother. I dont know if it's even really a bug or if the genes in game are really weird but last time I played a few months ago I did not have this occur.
