Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.44.88
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I own all content, but the bug still occurs with all content disabled and no mods.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go into a bar, coffee shop, etc.
What happens when the bug occurs? Sims will no longer interact with each other in bars, coffee shops, etc.
What do you expect to see? Sims interacting with each other again.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This bug occurred after the patch before Seasons was released. It isn't Seasons because the bug still happens in the base game with all content disabled.

Here is a video of the bug after the patch before Seasons:

I just tested out the November, 13th, 2018 patch and it looks like the non-interactive sims bug has been fixed. Not only that, they also fixed a ton of other bugs including sims not swimming. I just want to say thank you very much to the TS4 team and gurus for their hard work and effort put into this patch. Also, thank you for the new features such as the first person view and the terrain tools, awesome stuff!

This topic can be marked as fixed!

True. There is still interaction in the sense that they give money for concert players or are shocked about  a streaker. But Sims don't talk any more (or at least very rarely) unless they are together in a club.

That is correct, they will interact in the means of like buying their coffee, drink,  but the talking and such between themselves is gone. I haven't seen them talk myself at all since before that patch before Seasons. Below is a video showing how they used to interact before that patch. They were lively and fun, but now it's like they are almost lifeless.

Thought I'd add my input too.

I've noticed Sims aren't autonomously interacting with each other anywhere near as often as they did, especially on community lots.  I'm frequently encountering Sims with a low social need now, and instead of them interacting with other Sims, they'll go and chat on the computer.

I've also found that even in club gatherings Sims don't really socialise with club members even if it's a set rule.

There is some socialisation going on, but like I said, it's nowhere near as frequent as it was.

I also posted and created a poll about this issue earlier today at the main Sims forum for those who are not aware of this forum. Several others at the Sims forum are experiencing this issue as well.

Yes, I noticed this also in my game. They don't talk to each other unless it is an holiday that calls for some kind of holiday celebration or festival. I just hate it, less spontaneity makes for dullness. It was bad before that sims would not be mean to other sims if they where angry or mean, this is a lot worse. If they would make sim to sim interactions that could be made autonomous to be autonomous and give each interaction a push or an negative push depending on their traits and moods it would make it a lot better game. And for those players that don't like it they can have an turn off switch in game play options. Even in clubs they speak less than before. At parties they don't even talk much. Please put it back the way it was!!!

I think they did this for players that kept complaining about sims flirting to much with any sim available if they were flirty even if they were married. This was a very bad way of fixing the problem, it makes the game very dull, besides trying to keep friendship up since it all has to be user directed now is quite grueling. Especially since there is an more simpler way of adding a brought faithful trait(if they can make a sim faithful with a flower arrangement they can do it with a trait).  Edited to add more.

That's exactly how I feel,@Rosehrtgirl, they have become dull. I was tolerating the teleporting Sims issue which is frustrating when trying to record a video for your story, but this has sadly caused me to stop playing the game altogether. It was fun having interactive Sims, and it kept things lively and interesting. I'd find myself even laughing at some of the things the Sims would be doing, but indeed this not the case anymore as shown in the video I shared. I really do hope they fix this because I want to get back to playing and continue on with my story. Standard smile

Just an update on this issue after the July 31st 2018 patch. Here is another video that shows how fun and exciting this game is now... I spent a few minutes just looking at sims doing absolutely nothing... This is a serious bug, the game is broken. I've been a huge fan of TS4 since the launch and have bought everything as soon as the content became available, but the devs really need to fix this. Otherwise, I see no point in investing in any future content for a broken game. Besides this issue, the devs didn't even address the teleporting sims issue...

Do you see other lags in your game ?

I had a ladies night the other day and they were talking to each other but I haven't really had the time to check this throughly.

How do your own Sim react to autonym ?
