@Babolat85 If you use mods/cc at all I recommend “don’t wash dishes where you angry poop” as well as “don’t prep food where you angry poop”. Originally created by Scumbumbo currently being updated by LeRoiDeTout. This will fix that problem for you until it’s patched.

Sims won't use nearest sink, EVER

★ Apprentice

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Up to date
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just make your sims use the bathroom
What happens when the bug occurs? After using the toilet, the sims will automatically and every single time, use any other sink but the one that's in the exact same room they're in
What do you expect to see? Sims using the nearest sinks
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

My sims just won't use the sinks that's right in front of them and it's really REALLY annoying

@Babolat85The glitch is back. It also happens that my sims use the toilet and go the kitchen sink or another bathroom to wash their hands.

This one is on today's laundry list and it looks like the fix might be a good one (although I can still see it being a problem if you have two kitchen.

Why instead of creating tags per object, don't you create a room tag system, pre-defined lists of tags to apply to each room, example type of room: kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, children's room, adult room, newborn room , infants room, lawn yard, etc. Then the devs can consult the rooms the Sims are in and depending on the action the Sim will make the decision. For example, the Sim was asked to wash the dishes, so pathfinding will check which room the Sim is in. And look for the closest and most accessible room tagged as "Kitchen" and then from there in the room, it queries all the objects present tagged as "Sink" and then takes the closest one and makes the Sim go there and perform the action.

@frnathan13 That is a great idea, however there might be an issue implementing it if the room is "mixed", for example, open concept kitchen/dining/living room. Or if the "nursery" area is part of the parents bedroom (if one wants a sort of master suite and baby close by, lol). Your idea is definitely worth looking into, though, if they can figure out a way to make it work! Standard smile

@crinrict Is the "sink type" option coming in a base game update or is that screenshot only with the new For Rent pack? Because I have been waiting for the assignment option for so long and can't wait to use it, but I don't know when I will be able to get the new pack. Wink

Sink Assignments
The jig is up for Sims who had a penchant for shoving Harvestfest turkey bones down the drains of those poor, poor bathroom sinks. Starting today, all sinks can now be designated as Kitchen or Bathroom sinks.

'Fixed' in Patch 1.103.250/1.84

I assume that if you have multiple kitchen, the issue can still potentially happen. Make a new thread if it's excessive.

@LadyAofPineapple Sorry, didn't see your question. It's base game.
