I've noticed that the animation sometimes works correctly, sometimes it doesn't. It's unclear what causes it to go wrong.

I tested this after today's patch and thought at first it was fixed, too, because it worked correctly for the first time in a year. But unfortunately it broke again the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time. Still perhaps the team is on the right track with this issue.

There was a problem with the stone massage too, but it seems to be fixed since one of the last updates. However the hand massage bug stil persists. So far Spa Day seems to be gettin more stable over time, let's hope some day it will be bug free

I had my sim get a hand massage the other day and it actually worked with normal animation on both hands. I wonder if it was a fluke or not. I'll have to send more sims to the spa to check.

Yeah, I can see the same. In my game this issue occurs with one of the hands. As @alanmichael1 says, the masseur doesn't walk to the other side of the client, causing this issue.
