this is happening in my most recent save. they go through this five minute cycle of moving the infant from the crib to the floor to the crib to the floor and then theyre good for a bit and then they repeat. it's frustrating because they can barely take care of these infants anyway. they dont listen.

I can't even play the game anymore because of how awful this glitch is. If anyone knows of a way to fix it long term, please let me know!

every time my sims put their infant to bed, they immediately pick the baby back up and put them down on the floor again and again and again. I have tried resetting the parents multiple times. I play on ps4 and I haven’t even allowed cheats for this save.

Yeah, both parents and nannys tend to take the infants out of crib an prefer to place them on the floor or outside on the lawn or snowy ground. So there they lay most of the time, the crib is not used a lot. I have given up on trying to make them not go to the crib and interrupt the infant's sleep and instead I'm trying to get used to seeing infants on the floor/ground sleeping, while animals and sims walk all around them or over them and nanny watches TV as usual. Can we please have nannys who actually work instead of being so VERY attracted to the TV? Could they give the needy cat or dog some attention, food and cuddle instead or fix the laundry while the infant is sleeping IN THE CRIB? Can we also please have nannys which we can hire long term, until we choose to end the contract? They leave very fast and the family is without help. If they leave the lot, social services takes the kid away when no nanny is in place. This is escpecially important for us who play rotationally as we can't have full control of every household at once and which nanny is actually leaving and where. Let them stay until we decide they are not needed anymore or until the kids have grown up to teens, then the contract should end automatically if we haven't done it already by then.
The nannys the game provide currently are basically babysitters as they leave the household after just a short time. A nanny is a different thing, usually a contracted person who stays as long as the contract lasts.
It would be great to get a menu when hiring an NPC, just like the menus when adopting. There we would be able to see available nannys, maids, butlers, garderners repairmen, ranch hands etc. From that menu we should see their price, be able to call them and hire them. Maybe we could also be able to choose what outfit we want them to wear when they work for us and which tasks they should do and not do. If we want the nanny to cook or not, or if the butler shouldn't attend to the kids so that the nanny can do that instead etc. Here we should also be able to set how long we want the contract to last and during which hours they should work. Permanent should be one of the options. That would be fun, a bit like in real life.

YES omg this is driving me crazy. The only thing that's helped even a little bit is going to manage worlds and coming back but even then that's only a temporary fix and doesn't always work. It's making me not want to play anymore ngl

Yes, this a hundred times ad infinitum. I'm also having issues with the "check infant" interaction superseding what my sim is already doing or conflicting with another queued action, so my sim and the crying infant reset, meaning the infant is still not being taken care of. Just remove the "check" interaction altogether, you made them cry at literally everything (not the issue here, toddlers and infants cry all the time) and then made a buggy interaction to that 'everything'.

Unfortunately I cannot play with infants due this bug.
Parents nonstop checks on infants and they keep put them in and out of the crib rotation over and over!
More upsetting is when parents take the infants out and put them out of the house with blizzards and thunderstorms???
I'm using a Little MsSam mod that tune this bug down but even tho is not enough
