@1MalikaM If you have the toddler as the active sim, do you see the option to be introduced to/meet his/her parents or anything similar to that? If so,please try that that. If not, is there any other interaction that the toddler can choose toward the parents to begin or to build a relationship &/or interactions? If there is, please also try that.

Just checking, is it actually a toddler? Or is it an infant? Toddlers can do a lot more than lie on the floor, even if they don't know anyone. Infants can not. Assuming it's an infant, that is a reported bug and it's due to the fact that the parents/caregivers need to be introduced to the infant. I find the easiest thing to do is to have the infant smile at the parent/caregiver and that will open up all the care interactions. If having the infant smile at the parent/caregiver doesn't work, you can also hire a nanny and ask for an introduction from the nanny.

Here's a link to the bug report. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Parent-needs-to-be-introduced-to-infant/td-p/12382854

Best regards,

Jennifer

Re: [OPEN] Parent needs to be introduced to infant

★★★★ Guide

I'm on PC. My sim already had a baby prior to the infant update. The baby's father was dead, so she's the only parent. Luckily, she had a butler, so I asked the butler to introduce them.

Why is my adult sim acting like her infant daughter belongs to a stranger?

★★★ Newbie

I have a young adult sim in my household who is married to Cassandra Goth. She and Cass had a science baby together, and the interaction was initiated by Cass. Since then, everything has been weird. Every other sim in the household has been acting like normal (starting with some friendship already with the new baby) but my sim, Jude, has been treating her daughter like a complete stranger. She had to start the relationship from scratch, and when her daughter aged up into an infant, she has to ask to be introduced to her. I will say that Jude had something strange happen to her where she died of anger right after aging up to a YA with no death animation, and I used MC command center to reanimate her (after trying ambrosia and it not working). Please help? I want my sim to have a fair relationship with her daughter!

Re: [OPEN] Parent needs to be introduced to infant

★★★ Newbie

I'm also having this issue, even when I have no mods on my game. Everything works fine until a newborn is aged up to infant, then they cannot interact with their child and have to be introduced to their child. In a family who does not have a nanny, it's impossible.

It hasn't mattered what the trait of the baby is, it keeps happening.

Re: [OPEN] Parent needs to be introduced to infant

Hero

Caregivers have a lot to tend to with a Newborn in the home… Between the crying, sleeping, eating, and diaper changing, their kid is always on their mind. They definitely shouldn’t forget who their Newborn is when they age up to an infant. Parents will no longer need to introduce themselves to their little one after they’ve aged up to an infant.

Fixed in Patch 1.97.42/1.73

I personally do not believe that was all this thread was about but to make sure every case is getting fixed, make a new thread if you still have issues with this.

Please provide the following info

- Does your Sim have the beloved trait ?

- By what means did you get the baby (Alien Abduction, Science Baby, Adoption, Pregnancy)

- Do all caregivers have the issue or just a specific

- Do you have the introduce interaction ?

Good Luck
