Game lags after update May 22th

Hello, after new update on the Sims 4 today, my game is lagging a lot. It just stops every 10 seconds for a couple seconds and it's annoying. I can't play it like this. Does anybody know how can I fix this?? Can MCCC cause this?

• Did you have lags before this update ? If so, where ? No,My game was fine before. Now it lags.
• Where does the game lag now ? Everywhere or specific areas ? CAS and main menu as well as everywhere pretty much,it freezes then starts itself up and then freezes again.
• Do you play a fresh or an existing save game.Yes
• Are you using mods/cc and if so, have you tested without them ? Yes several times.Still laggy.

My game loaded just fine, but as soon as I entered game play, every time I click on my screen, it says Not Responding and I get the circle of death for about 30 seconds. Yesterday, before the update... I had zero problems.

@br0oklynb4by I am having this problem as well. I do not have MCCC, so that is not it. I am hoping EA will fix the issues and let us know when it is playable again. I am not tech savvy, so I can not follow along with some of the people trying to help.

I have recently gotten back into playing the Sims 4 on my old Hp laptop. I have had slight issues with it running in the past, but nothing like this. I played for quite awhile 2-3 days ago and it was working fine on Low-Medium graphics which is usual for me on my laptop. Now it has been incredibly slow and lagging, it will load the image for a few seconds and then the entire screen will freeze (sometimes with audio playing in the back as if the game isn’t frozen but the screen is) for about 30+ seconds. I can sometimes move my mouse but buttons don’t highlight, I cannot rotate the camera or zoom in/out, pop ups in game take forever, etc.

I tried uninstalling and downloading my game and packs again (I only own a handful of packs and use no mods or cc), but the problem is still happening. Please give me any recommendations or troubleshooting tricks as I am desperate!!

@jimblejamm It looks like a lot of people are having issues with the game freezing. I am as well. Im hoping EA will fix the issues soon.

@reagan2016 yikes! it’s nice to know that maybe it isn’t my actual laptop dying on me, hopefully ea addresses this

@jimblejamm I know. I was about to give up until I found out about this community. I think I messed my laptop up trying to find out the issue haha.
