I use Origin, and i also have SDX turned off so it doesnt help at all. Thank you for helping other simmers, i really hope we're gonna get a new update soon to fix this. Still no news from anyone right?

@crinrict i’ve tried both origin and the ea app and neither works properly, major lag in the main menu and in live mode for both platforms. the game freezes for up to a minute at a time and will load for maybe 10 secs just to freeze again.

After @crinrict already checked what card is used in your system all what is left for me is to say is that I hope Maxis comes up with a fix rather soon.

My Sims 4 game keeps freezing and won't respond to any input. Sometimes the game will freeze and not unfreeze. 


TS4 has never done anything of the sort until the new update appeared

Installed RAM 8.00 GB (5.92 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Touch support with 10 touch points

My specs aren't that good, but I could run the game on a solid 45 fps and would only temporarily lag when entering/exit build and buy mode

• Did you have lags before this update ? If so, where ? NO
• Where does the game lag now ? Everywhere or specific areas ? EVERYWHERE
• Do you play a fresh or an existing save game BOTH
• Are you using mods/cc and if so, have you tested without them ?YES AND YES
• How much RAM is the game using while you play ? Open the task manager and check RAM usage for the The Sims 4 (or TS4_x64.exe) process Doesn't look like it's a RAM issue. 3GB used

• What is your GPU/CPU Usage ? To find out, Start the game and load a save game, then open the task manager and monitor the GPU/CPU usage under Processes/The Sims 4. It will go up and down so just post an average number. 20% CPU / 25% GPU
• Does it work if you go offline ? (Cut the Internet Connection, not just go offline in Origin) no change

ever since my game has updated this last time so that you can pick your own pronouns my game will not stop freezing and lagging. it happens every like 20 seconds and lasts for just as long if not longer.

Does it work if you go offline ? (Cut the Internet Connection, not just go offline in Origin? No, does not help in either offline mode in Origin or when turning the Internet off.

Are you using EA App or Origin ? Origin
