What is your current game version number? 1.108.318.1020

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything up to and excluding Lovestruck with the exception of Castle Kit and Urban Homage Kit. 

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

Please describe the patch or change you made. Installed pre-Lovestruck patch (1.108.318.1020) that introduced Romantic Changes to Neighborhood Stories. 

Tested this with a new save after the patch that introduced Romantic Changes to Neighborhood Stories came out. 

Created one family in CAS (all relationships set in CAS) with grandparents, parents and siblings (8 sims total, 2 elders, 2 adults and 4 young adults)

I activated this type of progression on one family in "My Households" and played as a vampire for three days (hibernating). Then checked Neighborhood Stories notifications. 

ElderM and YAM4 are grandparent-grandson.

YAM1 and YAM3 are siblings. 

Loaded the Test family again to check their relationship panels. All 4 had romance bars and the Partner relationship tag. 

Uploaded save file and sent link via PM as per pinned message.

Patch today (July 26, 2024) claimed that this issue was fixed. Within 3 minutes of playing my game again, got a notification that cousins were now dating each other. Loading into that family shows that they are indeed Cousins, Sweethearts, and Partners. Was the fix only for new files and this just permanently destroyed my legacy?

@Jayrae316Did you get a phone call? The changes from Neighborhood Stories happen at night at 2:30am, so it's possible that it already happened before the patch. The phone call usually happens the next day after a few hours.

EDIT: If this is the case for you, you could check the versions of your safe file and see if there is one where your game time is still before 2:30am.

It was a phone call. I guess I'll try playing another 24 hrs and see what happens.

This appears to have been the case. There have been no further incestuous relationships in Neighborhood stories. There are still problems with it though. Namely sims that have clear romance/woohoo settings that are being ignored. Sims set to romance with no one and woohoo with no one are entering into romantic partnerships via NS. Sims that are interested in same sex romance and woohoo are getting into romantic partnerships with the opposite sex. While this isn't quite as alarming as the brother sister relations, it still shows that this feature needs more work. Also, while not a problem, I got four notifications at the mailbox in one day that four different sims were in romantic partnerships with the same sim. The next day three more had entered into partnerships with this same sim. I love that poly is now available in the game, but this seems to be a bit overdone. I don't think that this feature was ready to go live and now they need to scramble to fix it.

And I agree, I don't understand why this "feature" has been shipped. I have it deactivated for now since it doesn't even work for unplayed Sims.

Were the multiple relationships definitely created in your game or was it just the notification? There's another issue that changes don't have any effect at all, so maybe the game rightfully sees a Sim as single because the previous story didn't have any effect?

We've now released the latest update for The Sims 4 on all console platforms, this issue should no longer be occurring and this thread will now be closed.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Parent having a conversation with child.
What happens when the bug occurs? During a normal conversation between a parent and an adult child, parent has option to romance daughter. I have had the situation come up with his son in law too.
What do you expect to see? Not that. Friendly conversation only.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes

Situation occurs with and without mods. 
I also did a repair game sunday night (july 28th) after the update on july 26 that was supposed to adress the issue. Maybe linked ?
