[FIXED] Low Hanging Mason Multi-Jars Cause Routing Errors

[ Edited ]
★★★ Guide

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Fully up to date
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Place the low hanging mason multi-jars in a room where the walls are at least medium height. For me, the issue occurs most namely in the kitchen.
What happens when the bug occurs? Routing failures occur under the low hanging mason multi-jars.
What do you expect to see? Low hanging mason multi-jars should not be causing routing failures if the walls are at least medium height.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

This is strange. For some reason, the low hanging mason multi-jars specifically seem to be causing some routing issues. For the best possible duplication, place these lights in the kitchen of Agave Abode. This is where I am currently experiencing these routing issues. This is especially odd since I tested other low hanging lights that are the same length, namely the cantankerous cackleberries, and no routing issues occurred at all.

When these routing issues occur, my Sim will get the food out of the fridge, place it on one of the counters or islands, and then wave his arms about and complain because he can't make the food. I know for a fact that these jars were causing the issue because the instant I switched to the ceiling huggers, he made his food without any further problems.

I don't know if this also occurs with the tall walls or not, but it definitely happens with the medium walls.

  • The low hanging “Mason Multi-Jar Lighting” will no longer cause Sims to route fail when placed in rooms using medium height walls.

Where did you hang them ? Over the stove ? Over a counter ? Could you post a pic of your setup ?

Sure thing! Here's a picture:

As you can see, the jars are directly in the center of the kitchen. They are not hanging over the fridge, stove, sink, or any of the counters and islands, and my Sim walks under them just fine. He just experiences a routing error while trying to prepare food. It's especially weird since he makes it to the counter/island and puts the ingredients on it, but errors out when he starts trying to make the food.

And, as mentioned before, other lights that hang at the same length, namely the cantankerous cackleberries I moved from the other room to the kitchen temporarily to test them, did not cause the same issue. He prepared the food without problems.
