This bug is going to break the new cottage living expansion pack if it's not fixed.

★★ Guide

I personally would not buy a "farm - based" expansion pack when planting and harvesting plants is quite broken now. Maybe they could fix it before releasing the expansion, I hope.

I haven't been as lucky as the previous posters. Even if I save the game before my plants revert to dirt, once I reload they revert instantly.

I also don't see how people are expected to preorder a farming pack while basic gardening is broken for so long and not even on the "laundry list". The new pack looks great otherwise Disappointed

Here we go again, ANOTHER bug not being addressed for six months.

Have Seasons. This happens on any day in the middle of any season.

Play on console, so you can't use the, "A mod did it," excuse.

Happens at random times when game speed changes. Or when weeds, bugs generate at 6 and 7am in-game.

Small garden, big garden doesn't matter. Happens to some plants, all plants in random patterns.

Old save, brand new save started yesterday, doesn't matter.

Happens on home lots, happens on garden lots. Totally random when it will occur or what plants are affected.

Kind of a big deal to fix this one beforw the whole farming EP comes out, don't ya think?

Is EA even paying attention to EA answers? I'd like to see proof if anyone has any? Lol. Can be about any bug... Just give me some hope!!!

@meestormark Just set up a Youtube channel and become famous for hosting Sims 4 content. EA will give you your every whim for all the free advertising... Free packs, free content, Early releases... Plants named after you...

This made me laugh more than it should have.

But maybe getting in touch with some YouTube-ers I befriended before they were famous is a workable strategy.... Lol.

I've been having this problem for over a year now. It happened for months when I didn't have Seasons, and continued to happen after I bought that pack. The larger the garden the worse it seems to make it, but it also happens when I only have one or two plants. I thought maybe mods were the issue, so I did a completely clean boot of the game and it was actually far worse with no mods in use than it was with them. At first I thought the plants only became dirt piles when my Sims interacted with them in some way, but now it seems to be totally random; plants will just spontaneously vanish throughout the day. Different plants will revert to dirt piles at different times in any given garden, but it seems to affect all plants. I really want the new expansion coming, but there's no way I'll get it until this issue is fixed because it makes growing anything commercially impossible. I'm lucky if I have one or two harvestable plants at any given time in a large garden; the rest will be piles of dirt.

@logionX It won't be fixed. Gardening has been completely broken since Seasons was released. Why would they fix it now? I urge everyone not to buy the new pack. You'll only be dissapointed.

It'll be a lot more fun to wait and watch all the fallout from everyone complaining nothing in the pack works. Because trust me, it'll happen.

I had the same issue. Didn't think to save before, so don't have any save where almost the entire gardens reverted to their initial phase.

I do however have a save just before a cow plant is effected. However, unlike the other plants, it reverts to display the cow seed in dirt, but can still be heard and interacted with (feed/play/etc) as though it was full size. The plants reverting to dirt, however, had to be regrown. So I can't be 100% sure if it is the same bug, but could be and just effects the cow plant differently. I didn't wait long enough to see if a second would 'regrow' in its place or not.

Anyway, I'm not sure where I send the save file. I uploaded it to google drive, but is there a certain person I message/send it to or what?

Further info:

The game is saved and if you walk into the greenhouse and use SELL ALL or SUPER SELL, the cow plant reverts to its just-planted graphic. However it can be clicked and acted on as the normal cow plant. In this particular instance at least, selling each plant individually seems to work as intended.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English

How often does the bug occur? In this save, the cow plant is effected every time. My plants almost all got reverted once previously as well.
What is your current game version number? 1.75.125.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Discover University, Island Living, Get Famous, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Get Together, Get to Work, Strangerville, Parenthood, Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat, Moschino, Fitness, Vintage Glamour, Backyard, Spooky, Holiday Celebration Pack, Grim's Ghoulish Guitar

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use SUPER SELL and watch cow plant revert to initial phase, or use SELL ALL and wait for plant near the cow plant to sell to trigger it
What happens when the bug occurs? In this instance, cow plant reverts to initially planted seed form, though when clicked acts as the entity fully grown is still there
What do you expect to see? No vanishing graphics; the bug occurred with regular plants and they must be regrown
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No mods or custom content

What? You mean you think that content created by EA will have issues... NO WAY!! In all seriousness, these problems are getting out of hand. I quit playing a few months ago precisely because of issues like this... in fact this WAS one of the issues that made me quit since gardening became close to impossible. Seeing that this problem and many others still exist is just pathetic, and most will never be fixed except for computer versions of the game though modders will do the fixing.

I recently thought I'd try giving the game another try... mistake. Now I've run into a completely different issue with plants where after watering them for the first time, I can no longer water them again and they all die. Oh but leaving the lot and going back is a workaround... seems this game is one giant workaround isn't it? Oh and I only have the base game, no seasons, but the gardening is still broken anyway. Gotta love how they let issues from certain packs seep into the base game, or just into the games of people without those specific packs.

I'd also tell people not to buy this new pack, but unfortunately so many people nowadays are willing to accept mediocre products and just blindly go along with it as if it was okay. I totally agree it will be fun to see the complaints, because you know it will be broken day 1, and people will act surprised too as if EA never made mistakes...
