@Jan_831 I think the issue might've been solved, prior to Cottage Living. I remember right after the likes/dislikes were introduced I would get notifications for other sim families of mine (but not the active household) that were near the active lot. Recently I haven't gotten popups, but since installing Cottage Living a few days ago I see it again.

That could be.  I never had the problem before, but starting having the problem after Cottage living.

This has happened ever since the preferences were introduced. I really enjoy the preferences but to me this seems like an obvious bug. It interrupts gameplay way too often. Obviously it doesn't happen as much if you just stay home and never go anywhere but on community lots it's popup mayhem.

I was waiting for my sim to come home from work and got the same "Should [sim name] accept that she dislikes gardening?" popup four times, because I kept saying no. Either remember my choice or don't bother me about it - one or the other!

I have had this problem since the patch for likes and dislikes came out. It pops up for my other played households (other than the one I am in) and covers all kinds of activities. I play rotationally. Frankly it is so annoying I have considering removing DHD from my game, but from what I read here that wouldn't even work. It happened CONSTANTLY in the beginning, but has tapered off over time. I thought it was (a stupidly designed) feature, not a bug - or I would have reported it sooner. It has broken immersion so many times, or canceled out other pop ups I was trying to deal with. I hate this with a passion.

Oh wow, I had no idea this was actually a bug, I just assumed this was how the new likes and dislikes feature was supposed to function... Granted I thought it was quite an annoying implementation, considering it interrupts gameplay so frequently. Makes sense that it's a bug, thankfully. I keep getting pop-ups over and over again asking me if I want Bob Pancakes to like or dislike fitness/fishing/dancing, and every other Tom, * and Harry in the game that isn't even my main played household. It's ridiculous and spammy.

You think there was already enough annoyance in the game without just adding more garbage like this..

Seeing this also on PS5. I have all the pre-made households marked played so the game doesn't mess with their jobs or skills. The number of popups is very intrusive.

The Sims 4 Preferences System is Intrusive and Tiresome

[ Edited ]
★★ Guide

Playing The Sims 4 on community lots has been a nightmare for me ever since the preference system was introduced to the game.

I can't stand playing on community lots anymore because whenever I visit this kind of lot, which usually receives a lot of Sims, it starts to pop up several times notifications from the preferences system, asking me to define if an NPC sim likes or dislikes doing certain things or activities.

I have nothing to do with NPC Sims. These invasive notifications popping up all the time, especially in environments with lots of Sims, are making my gameplay experience bad, because it keeps pausing the game all the time against my will.

You guys should add an option to the game that allows players to choose whether they want to set NPCS Sims preferences manually, via these notifications, or whether we want the game to set preferences for NPC Sims automatically and randomly.

The Sims 4 is getting full of these notifications that pause the simulation all the time, it's starting to detract from the gameplay experience.

Please consider reviewing how these preference notifications work. These notifications are annoying, and the sound that plays when we choose an option is also annoying.

The last time I was on a community lot, I received 4 notifications to set NPCS Sims preferences in a period of 6 Sims hours. It's horrible.
