I forgot to mention that I did try this and did not work:

Yes, I did try the things at: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2015/04/game-crashes-on-loading-the-science-lab/

Did not work. There was one point after I updated the video drivers that I was able to join my Science Sim three days in a row to work, but the sound skipped. Such as: wh-wh-wh-when. I shut down my laptop, then later I updated the sound drivers. Have not been able to join Science career since. Other careers working like glass. My Doctor Sim has been abducted and now has a little one to care for whilst working his way to the top at the hospital.

I joined the scientist career fine but when I try to 'join' my sim at work it crashes on the load screen. I played the doctor career previously and it worked perfect.

@ASimWen What graphcis settgins do you have your game on ? Low ? Your chip should be ok according to @CodySimstein list

My sims 4 is working fine until i installed the get to work expansion pack. It keeps on crashing when i try to follow my scientist sims. Help? I'm using mac 2012 OS X.
