Ugh!!! I'm having this same problem and it's SO frustrating! :/ Bridget Baker suddenly has 6 kids because one of her kids has 3 kids! Also, Bridget's (the grandma) husband is STILL ALIVE and still married yet it doesn't show a relationship between them on her tree!
Tommorrow is new game patch, i hope they fix this issue

- Family Trees should accurately represent a Sim’s lineage now with non-blank thumbnails.
Fixed in Patch 1.46.18
