•Open the rental agreement once you are in the unit to look at the condition of the rental. You will see why the rental is rated at it's current star rating.
•You have to then go into world view while you, the landlord, is still in the unit.
•Go into build mode for the unit.
•Edit the unit to make the changes necessary to increase the star rating for the unit. If the environment is lacking, you need to add more decor and so on that increase environment and lot value.
•When you are finished, save and go back into world view.
•Locate and select your landlord's household to play.
•Last, have your landlord sim talk to the tenant and choose the option to promise better conditions. This should complete the event.
I hope this helps! Good luck!
Yeah no way, that's far too much diddling around. The way they set up the units being invisible and having to travel to them then dink in and of units and in this case also world map to go back to play the landlord to resume this "event" is ridiculous.
Going to pass on ever doing this "event" - it's going in the too hard bin.

The advice is slightly incorrect. It's a chance based interaction. You don't necessarily have to go into build mode to fix the issue, you just need to solve whatever problem exists on the lot. Usually it's a broken toilet, sink, or garbage on the floor. Once you fix the problem, you should then attempt the interaction. High relationship with the tenant also greatly increases success chance. Theoretically, with a high enough relationship with a tenant, you don't even have to fix the problem. Most of these interactions are set to default 30% fixed chance to disapprove, like many other interactions that Maxis lazily designed. A talented game designer doesn't set a default fail chance to something like this. It's The Sims, not World of Warcraft.

I have no tenant rules to remove. It's a medium sized space with desirable amenities and satisfactory maintenance. The only thing listed is environment being lacking - and you cannot change a rentals features unless you kick the tenant out. How about making events relevant to situations instead of randomly spawning things that make no sense?

Same story as the other. Revolt started, solved it in gameplay but seemed to still be active preventing any further gameplay. My sim was a live in rental owner with two rental suites. When that happened I evicted, sold and changed back to residential. Still issues. As a result of that other issues started to arise and I have visited those reports as well. Stuck on rental lot in map and cannot save in build mode.
my mods are all updated and confirmed updated. Tested without and with, cleared cache each time and same result no matter what.
Product: The Sims 4
Platform: Mac
Which language are you playing the game in?
English
How often does the bug occur?
ever since this happened the lot is now stuck in rental mode and have since moved sims. Not being able to save after build mode edits also continues since the revolt issue.
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? In build mode using my rental owner fam starts to throw LE’s right away
What happens when the bug occurs? Throw’s LE’s during gameplay and now cannot save while building.
What do you expect to see? None of these issues after buying a new product that makes my whole game a stresser.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes. All are up to date and cache cleared when duplicating the issue without any mods.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes, punishment for purchasing the For Rent EP!!

All good. Hopefully the event will be fixed soon to include something to guide us through the process to complete the event. A lot of guesswork went into trying to figure it out.

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.104.58.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansion packs except Horse Ranch // All game packs except Werewolves, Batuu, Magic and Vampires // All stuff packs except Paranormal, Knitting, Backyard and Luxury Party // Only the Desert Luxe Kit.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a 5 star rental and wait for a revolt to occur
What happens when the bug occurs? There shouldn't be a revolt when you have a top rated rental with no obvious issues (i.e. Size: Large, Amenities: Desirable, Environment: Fancy, Maintenance: Amazing).
What do you expect to see? No revolts happening in a top-rated rental
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I'm a bit at a loss as to how I could make my rental any better, honestly. I action 'expensive' contractors for every issue and get the 'good job on dealing with this so fast' notification, the house was previously my property owner's and so everything is upgraded as high as possible etc. The rent isn't even a quarter of the max amount!
Whilst I removed script mods, I did keep in CC (or there'd be pretty much nothing in the house...) but I'm not sure how this could contribute to the issue I'm having...
March
The pack's description literally implies that Tenant Revolts are a consequence of failing to maintain a high unit rating. Therefore, they shouldn't even be possible to happen on level 4/ 5 star units.
June
5 star rental, no issues, I still got a tenant revolt and I watch as the landlord themself go outside to protest.
This pack is a mess.
July
Having this issue right now. My rental is rated 4+ stars. The broken sink was fixed a whole Sim day before. I cleaned up the mess and they still won't accept the 'promise of better conditions'. I honestly don't know how you'd fix this.
Maxis need to sort themselves out
