sims 4 for rent not showing i own property

@taynic29 this happened to me today only that i move in to one of the apts in the lot i owned. So i tried moving out of the lot and did as you instructed and it worked!! Thanks!

Me too and it is awful. I have these nice town homes I built and live in one but rent out the others. Everytime time I leave my lot then under the business tab it says I don't own any rentals. The same goes for my other sim families who own a restaurant and vet clinic. When I hover over the rentals or the business in manage worlds it shows I still own them but I can't travel to work as a vet or restaurant owner. Also if I stay on my home lot to be a property manager the rent price changes on its own and I can't solve the tenant revolt situation that occured even though I promised to do better last but not least the property name keep changing back to the original name. When I try to save sometimes an error message pop up and it does not allow me to save. I'm ps4 I have no mods/cc I have all packs except a few kit packs

So I noticed I have a last exception that keeps happening that’s probably causing it. 

Error message: business_service failed to handle zone load due to exception (AttributeError: “nonetype’ object has no attribute “lot_template_id’ category ID: persistence_service676.

I noticed this error is on other threads like when dine out and get together first came out because they both use that business menu as well. Not sure what to do about it except wait for an update hopefully or a mod

I’m running into the same issues, no mods and I’ve gone through Origin to “repair files.” Every time I try to view for tenants after purchasing a residential rental and setting it up completely, it makes me go back home and once I’m home the business icon tells me I don’t own any residential rentals. 

I have heard a few complaints with previous game and expansion packs for terrible bugs and lack of fixes so I don’t know why I’m surprised. It’s incredibly disappointing considering this was a known issue prior to release according to community posts, and I’ve spent a lot of time building my apartment in preparation to own. 

@EA please figure out what the issue is and release a patch fix ASAP! This issue has caused the expansion pack to be completely unplayable. I don’t know what else to do to resolve this issue, and I’ve dug around and others have the same issue with zero resolution.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Purchase a rental property, load in and click on owned rentals tab. 
What happens when the bug occurs? I'm not a property owner even though I own the lot.
What do you expect to see? Owned rental tab.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, just CC, but playtested with them removed and still happens.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? After installing For Rent.

I am also running into these same issues. My Sim cannot be a landlord. After buying a four unit rental property, (that I built in Windenburg) It works on the first unit, as long as I don't fill the vacancy. Once I fill the remaining vacancies I still show the lot as owned in my panel. 

ANY LOADING SCREEN changes this. Whether I travel to another unit, another world, or switch control of families, my Sim (and family) always loses his Rental Property Owenership panel. It's as if I never bought the property. 

If I hover over the Property while in the Manage Worlds section, then I can see the name of my sim as owning it, but they still can't interact with it, other than to sell it. 

EDIT: Having tried the workaround mentioned above, I can confirm that going into Build/Buy mode does work... only if I'm not on the Rental Property Lot. If I trvel there, it breaks again, because, Loadscreen. 

This makes traveling to the different units to fix various events impoosible, because once I go from one unit to the next, the load screen occurs, so effectively, according to the game, I no  longer own the lot. And because I don't own the lot, I can't use the workaround. 

Also, only one of the 4 tenents are paying rent, without an option to do anything about it.

What happens when the bug occurs? My Sim household has purchased a residential rental, this happens whether they live in the residential rental or not, but they are not showing up in the ‘Owned Businesses’ panel and a message is displayed that my sim does not own any residential rentals, even though my sim has paid for the property and when hovering over the lots in Manage World mode it looks like my family is the owner. This makes it difficult to see who is staying in which unit, the unit rating and general information. It worked the first time I loaded the game but when travelling to another unit or lot, the panel began displaying that I do not own a residential rental.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the residential rentals that I own showing up in the ‘Owned Businesses’ panel.

Sims 4 For Rent: When in live mode if I click on the “Owned Businesses” panel after purchasing a residential rental, and then travel to another rental unit or lot, it shows that I do not own a residential rental which means I can’t see who is living in my units and their ratings. But when looking in Manage Worlds it still shows that I own the property.

TEMPORARY FIX METHOD

What @taynic29 said works for me.

Going home > Going into Build-Buy > Go back into live mode and the menu of my tenants is back!

I don't mind hopping between BB and LM for a while as long as the landlord system works whilst waiting for a patch that fixes this overall.

This worked for me until I shut down my game. when I reopened, same problem: not in the owned businesses tab, but in manage worlds, it says my sim owns the property. Hopefully the issue gets patched soon

@lexicookk I have the same problem. Happens after every load screen. When they disappear I go to the build mode menu when I am in my own property and then back to Live Mode and the residential rental's then show up under the “Owned Businesses” panel. A frustrating workaround until it gets fixed!
