I figured out it's the kettle, both of the new ones. I removed each appliance one by one until the moodlet went away and it's definitely the kettles. I'm not sure why, as the kettles were either a) clean or b) upgraded to 'automatically descale' so couldn't be dirty.

First time using a pressure cooker, I noticed that it was making a filthy surroundings moodlet, so I tried having my sim put it in their inventory to see if it would go away. The moodlet went away, so that confirms it was the cooker causing it.

But the weird thing that happened afterwards was my sim autonomously started cleaning dirty dishes from their inventory and the pressure cooker had disappeared - they treated it like dirty plates in their inventory and washed it up in the sink making it disappear permanently...

@JDLgnd neat Sims can always clean objects, that's not a bug Standard smile

Non-neat Sims still react to this bug - they will still react as if there are some dirty dishes, they will get the "stinky boot" bubble and they will wave their hands in front of their nose as if it stinks (at least that's what happens to my non-neat sims with these items)

I'd experienced the same bug after placing both kettle and cooker in my sims' kitchen (and fully upgrading both..<sigh>). I'm playing a residential home lot in Tartosa, not a rental res lot. None of my sims have the Neat trait. However, all are Spellcasters. The option appeared to cast the 'Scruberoo' spell on both new FR appliances. In addition to their complaints about foul phantom smells, I'd witnessed another strange occurrence. When I'd directed a sim to cast Scruberoo on both kettle then cooker, one after the other had disappeared into a void of nothingness, never to be seen again. Whilst the spell is meant to clean objects/sims rather than vanish them entirely, this may seem an impressive upgrade to their Practical Magic skill. Sadly, I'd hoped to see my witches enjoying new cups of tea and veg meals. Meanwhile, I'll download NateTheL0ser's mod because we must. Many thanks for that recommendation.

Same here. My sim put the pressure cooker in her inventory to make the bad moodlet go away. I then saw an option to clean up spoiled food from her inventory, and when she did that, the pressure cooker was gone. This is in my no-mods test save, with my sim living in the smaller pre-made rental unit in town (Tomarang).

I haven't experienced this with the Kettle yet, but it's constant with the Pressure Cooker. Even/especially when it has been fully upgraded. It's infuriating.

I've just experienced the same issue with the kettle. Mood only went away once I removed the kettle

I get the same problem. I wish EA would fix that. I want to use the Rice cooker, the two other new pots
