Just popping in to say I'm also experiencing this bug. I have a neat sim and removing either (or sometimes both) the electric kettle and rice cooker removes the filthy surroundings moodlet. I play on PC. I'm on the lot in the for rent world with mold trait

Grace under pressure cooker gives bad environment moodlet when placed

★★★ Novice

Evertime I place the pressure cooker from the new pack My sims have a permanent bad environment moodlet that doesn't go away until I delete the cooker I've tested it out in multiple apartments so I know for sure it's causing the bad environment moodlet

Furthermore! I'd put the electric kettle and pressure cooker in my sims inventory to remove the dirty surroundings buff. I just had the option to remove dirty dishes from my sim's inventory through the option that usually comes up when you leave a dirty plate in your sim's inventory but this time it was the kettle and pressure cooker, when my sim took the 'dishes' from his inventory the kettle and pressure cooker disappeared (implying the game thought  they were dirty dishes) and then washed them up in the sink. Maybe they're coded in a way that makes them act like dirty dishes for some reason?

So that’s what it is! I’m playing with Thi currently and I did re-do her whole apartment and added in the pressure cooker and the new tea kettle and while she starts with the slob trait she changed from slob to neat and kept only getting the dirty surroundings moodlet in the kitchen/livingroom area despite me having her clean her entire apartment. I will have to remove the pressure cooker and the kettle i guess but that stinks I hope it’s cleared up soon.

NateTheL0ser has released Tiny Mod: No Kitchen B**** - No "smells bad" broadcaster from "spoiled" appliances (or food), cannot link, but you could potentially have the mod until it is fixed and rendered obsolete

Hero
@EeveeTinn You are now welcome to link as long as the mods or the site the mods are on doesn't raise the rating (new rule)

I also experienced this issue where Sims constantely get the dirty surroundings, it seems to only happen in Residential Rentals from the Pack For Rent tho... at least for me, I haven't experienced it yet on normal Residential lots
